It is the name of various stunningly colourful Australian parakeets. Never heard of it as a name for a person but I've always thought it was a pretty word.

I know, but Rosanna only has 1 e and it's pronounced Rose-Anna

No it's pronounced Ro-sanna
Roseanne is pronounced Rose-Anne. See what I mean. Anyway I prob being very annoying but as a language teacher I think it's not a name I would use for the above reasons, sorry.

Still around the same pronounciation... I was trying to emphasise that it wasn't Roz

I knew a Rosella years ago, she was Italian.

She was the first girl in our class to find out how babies were made. We were nine.

She gathered us all in the playground and told us that the man and woman rub their willies together.

We didn't believe her. Always lying for attention, that one.

Lovely name though. Grin

I'm with triceratops . It makes me think of that skin condition which gives you bright red spotty patches!

Another here who thought it might be a skin condition. According to Wiki, its a colourful parrot and its a range of soups and sauces.

For electronic records and email addresses hyphens can be a bit tricky so you could end up getting lost in a system...

It's the name of a type of parakeet as pp have said.

When you say you came across it - do you mean as a girl's name?
