Twin boy choices

Posting for my SIL who's in hospital - please critique her choices.

Alfred and Edward (Alfie & teddy)
Oscar and Arthur
Edward and Oscar
Henry and Arthur
Alfie and Archie
Henry and George
Arthur and George

Middle names will be James and Joseph after family. They're lying to be identical but won't know until they're born (don't get this bit!).

Older brother is Isaac. Thanks! I'm going to see her later so will share your replies.

Alfred and Edward is a no no as sound too similar endings for twins imo but could have:

Alfred and Edwin ?

Or maybe Edmund

Henry Joseph and Arthur James

I know twins called Alfie and Archie!

Too similar, especially as they will both be mr a j surname...

Ozzy and Eddie. Oscar and Edward. Oscar Joseph and Edward James.

Both nice boyish names. Both have a cute nn, but individual enough for two separate people.

And not too royal!

I think the others are either too samey (esp with middle names also starting with the same letter) or too cutsey with the shortened versions you are suggesting. (Just my opinion though - I have ID twin girls and before we knew they were girls I had two boys names picked out which started with the same letter - some would have said they were too matchy matchy, but they were the only names we loved (and we really did/do love them) and the shortened versions of them made them quite different from each other. Tell your SIL to go with what SHE wants and stuff everyone else - naming twins is hard! (esp if you are having to make the names also work with other siblings!) )

P.S. We didn't know whether our twins were identical until we had DNA testing done at 5 months - I would imagine that your SIL's twins are DCDA (separate sacs and separate placentas) - these twins CAN be ID or Non-ID depending on when the egg split. We were told cord blood would be taken after birth so it could be determined, but they didn't get a complete enough sample hence why we had to pay for private DNA testing done at 5 months. (The NHS wouldn't do it for us at that stage as there is no medical reason to need to know). I would imagine your SIL is in a similar position.

Oh that's interesting dayslikethis. They definitely have separate sacs...its clear on early scan pictures.

My choice would be Arthur and Oscar!
