Baby boy Falconer.......

Thoughts on Falconer for a baby boy?Falconer was my late fathers first name.

I have before so apologies for anyone I'm boring to tears. We are really struggling with boys names as friends have used names we love.

Middle name is James

I've never head of it being used as a name before but the family link would be nice. Suppose it's not that much different to other occupation names like Cooper or Fletcher.

I prefer Leo though.

It's a very strong name and not one I've heard before. I kind of like it and expect it's a 'grower' and the connection to your late father makes it more endearing.

Your other options are good 'safe' names with the exception of Innes

First thought was Lord Falconer. I haven't heard of it as a first name before but agree the family link is a nice thought.

I like Leo, George and Harrison best of your other choices.

I'd prefer it as a middle name. Leo Falconer or James Falconer would be nice.

It sounds like an old money American but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

It sounds a bit too modern American surnamey for me. I think it would make a lovely middle name though.

Really like Falconer. Reminds me of Robert Falcon Scott, so sounds brave and adventurous.

Also like your other names, although Innes seems more feminine as it makes me think of Ines. (Really like Angus though.)

I know a guy who's surname is falconer, but who always gets called Falco and he is the coolest dude ever - I really like it, and it had a lovely sentiment behind it. It's a yes from me!

My son is a falconer, he would've loved to be named Falconer too. It's a great name

Yes squoosh he is, much to the consternation of his science teacher who once told him he would amount to nothing! DS took great delight, at the age of 19, in going back to his old school with a bloody great big owl on his arm to do a display that had been arranged for a Leaver's Day. The look on his science teacher's face was a picture apparently.
