I'm expecting my first DS. My friend suggested the name Garrett. I haven't really thought about names. What do you think of it?

Not a fan. Sorry.

What style of name do you like?

manicinsomniac · 28/11/2015 16:56

I quite like it. Kind of makes me think dingy attic but I think I'd soon get over that if I knew a human one!

WhatKatyDidnt · 28/11/2015 16:59

No... sounds too much like garrotte and will be shortened to Gary.

shartsi · 28/11/2015 17:02

Thanks Libraries and Manic for your responses. I like long names like Alexander and sebastian but don't want to use them. Not sure why.

Thanks whatkaty, definitely Gary puts me off. So for that reason alone, I will not use it. Thanks, that was easy.

No no and no !!

MitzyLeFrouf · 28/11/2015 17:16

Reminds me of Garret FitzGerald.

I know lots of Gareths who are never referred to as Gary so I really wouldn't worry about that. Garrett does sound a bit like someone who can't pronounce there THs correctly trying to say 'Gareth'.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/11/2015 17:25

It's bloody awful. And makes me think of this...

Garrett
