I don't think you can have a James and a Jack - James is the Scottish version of John and Jack is a nn for John so it seems a bit daft to me.

I don't think Jack goes with James.

Be a bit careful with Jeremy as both James and Jeremy can produce the short name Jem.

Other than that, suggestions

Edward, George, Charlie, Samuel, Thomas, Jonah, Joseph, Toby, Adam.

James isn't the Scottish version of John, it has a different root (James is from the Latin Jacobus, John is from the Greek Johannes).

Iain is the Gaelic form of John.

We have a James (always a James. Never a Jamie or any other abbreviation but I see Jamie as a completely different name?)

We had Edward, Finn, Ryan, Aaron and George on out list for number 2.... All quite different we had a girl in the end

HackerFucker22 · 23/11/2015 08:37

I don't think you can have a traditional name like James and then a super modern American name like Jackson?

I don't think names have to be matchy as such but I don't like names that are poles apart.
