Ok from my previous thread this is the name that jumps out at me.

So what do you think?
Could Lissie be a potential nickname?
Do you know many Alice's?

I think it's a lovely name. Unfortunately, I can't hear it without 'Alice? Who the fuck is Alice?' running through my head. It was a song (in the 90s?), if you don't know what I'm on about. No idea who it was by!

Alice is classic and beautiful. No need to shorten.

alicemalice · 12/11/2015 21:33

I love Alice! Obviously :-)

It's not my real name but I wanted to call DD that.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 12/11/2015 21:36

Living next door to Alice was by smokie.

Very sweet name. Classic. Yes, lissie could be a nn.

I like it.

Thundercrackers · 12/11/2015 21:39

I know a gorgeous Alice and would have called my d Alice except it just doesn't go with our v short surname. Anyway! Her nn has always been Ali or just Al.

resipsa · 12/11/2015 22:03

I know a 3 year old Alice. She is delightful. The name really suits her.

Doilooklikeatourist · 12/11/2015 22:08

Alice is a lovely name
Lissie is awful
In my opinion

ExBallerina · 12/11/2015 22:10

Love it, and you can use whatever nn you like!

IoraRua · 12/11/2015 22:15

Alice is nice.
I know two (I think), but both are teens now.

Leavingsosoon · 12/11/2015 22:17

Queen I am the same and I do love the name! I am friends with an Alice who is always late and 'where the fuck is Alice' used to be an ongoing joke Grin

Sorry OP, it's a lovely name, said Alice (even though she is always late) is tall and beautiful so I always think of Alice's as being like this.

StealthPolarBear · 12/11/2015 22:21

We have an Alice
shortemed to Ali or alligator (when she's grumpy)

ashesandfire · 12/11/2015 22:21

I love Alice.
I like Lissie as a nn too, I much prefer it to Ali. I have thought before that if I had another daughter I would like Alice/Lissie or Felicity/Flissie.

Pipestheghost · 12/11/2015 22:23

Very nice Smile

StealthPolarBear · 12/11/2015 22:24

Bit I agree lissie is nice, prob prefer it to Ali but Ali evolved.

Only1scoop · 12/11/2015 22:26

Not keen

'Lissie' sounds a bit drippy

Sorry

kelper · 12/11/2015 22:27

Roy chubby brown did the "who the fuck is Alice" version, Smokeys version was free of the wee swearies ;)

Dogsmom · 12/11/2015 22:30

I considered the name too but couldn't get past the song, I was also put off the name Mary by people on here who said it was another weird for your fanny Hmm

Dogsmom · 12/11/2015 22:30

*word

Wishsicles · 12/11/2015 22:36

I really like Alice, but I think Allie is a more obvious NN. However, Lissie could easily be used :)

penguinplease · 12/11/2015 22:36

I have an Alice, she's 12, shortens it to Al or Ali
I love the name and we don't know any others!

Winterqueen · 13/11/2015 16:31

I like it. DH vetoed by singing who the f is Alice. But that will be a 90's teen thing and not affect a new baby Alice.

penguinplease · 14/11/2015 18:23

No one has ever sung that to or around my Alice, I think if anyone did she would just give them a withering stare anyway, it's quite dated now

hawkmcqueen · 14/11/2015 21:15

I would assume Lissie was a shortening for Felicity. I really wouldn't take it from Alice. Alice is a simple and classic name and not to be messed with imo.

HackerFucker22 · 15/11/2015 08:22

Very popular at the mo. Lovely name just overused and has lost that 'uniqueness' for me. I say this as someone who used a top 10 name for DS (DD name is not in top 100 though)
