April, May or June? Are these names nice? Does it matter what month she will be born?

I think april is a lovely name and I don't think it matters if they're born in April. Smile

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/11/2015 19:15

April is ok.

Don't like the other two at all.

AuntieStella · 12/11/2015 19:18

I'm not wild about April, May is fine, June makes be think 'Terry and ...."

And yes, I think it would be distinctly weird to use a month name in a different month.

Madbengalmum · 12/11/2015 19:18

Dont care for june, like the others

GothJoose · 12/11/2015 22:08

I really like April. I know a December born April.

Wishsicles · 12/11/2015 22:53

April is really pretty and it doesn't matter when she's born :)

May is a lovely name. April is ok. June not so good... Joan or Jean much nicer!

Pipestheghost · 13/11/2015 09:24

April is nice, not so keen on the others.

MummaGiles · 13/11/2015 09:24

Really like April. I'd go for Mae rather than May. June is a bit old lady for me.

MrsHathaway · 13/11/2015 10:04

Someone I know was due her daughter in June, and somewhat sadly decided it would be weird to name a June baby April... April Rose arrived prematurely. (She was fine and is now seven.)

May is utterly overused as a middle name. It's this generation's Jane/Louise.

June is probably due a revival but it's a bit stuffy just yet.

CakeRattleandRoll · 13/11/2015 11:04

I quite like them all, but would find it a bit odd to use them if they weren't the birth month. Unless you were calling the baby after a relative/friend.

Although having said that, I have a feeling that May might have originated as a flower name, as in hawthorn.

SoundFury · 13/11/2015 11:08

My Grandmother is called May and was born in October.
She also has a sister June! Not sure of her birthday though.

It means I've been saddled with May as a middle name which is now very common, not so much when I was younger, so everyone used to think that MY birthday was in May.

sarahquilt · 13/11/2015 14:04

May is lovely. My aunty spelled her name 'Mai'.

scatterthenuns · 15/11/2015 03:17

I love June. So much.

May is everybody's name, and April feels too 90s.

mathanxiety · 15/11/2015 03:39

June is having a big comeback where I am.

I agree April sounds very dated (very 70s/80s to my ear) and May is too popular.

May is a short form or pet form of Mary.
