I love it. I also like Jem as a nickname.

Scoopmuckdizzy · 11/11/2015 10:04

I've always loved this name.

Sunshine511 · 11/11/2015 11:09

There's a sweet little girl who goes to nursery with my nephew. Her name is Jemima but all the kids call her mima. Really cute!x

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/11/2015 11:11

I Love it.

Jem, Jemma, Mimi, Mima

Sophronia · 11/11/2015 15:19

Love it.

Jem, Jemi, Mi/Mai, Mimi, Mima

MitzyLeFrouf · 11/11/2015 15:57

The nicknames are nicer than the name itself.

IoraRua · 11/11/2015 17:55

Eeesh, no. Horrible, frilly, flouncy ducks name imo.

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/11/2015 17:58

Love it, used it for my cat as no more children for me.
Mima and Mimey as nicknames.

FetaComplete · 11/11/2015 18:01

It makes me think of PlaySchool the bbc programme with Jemima and Hamble.

Biscuitsneeded · 11/11/2015 18:01

I always used to think of it as a doll's name (maybe because of Playschool when I was a kid?!) but now I teach one I quite like it. I think it needs quite a strong personality to carry it off though.

eatmytoes888 · 11/11/2015 19:34

Love it here too. Jemima doesn't even need a nn but there are lots of options if you choose.

Trizelda · 11/11/2015 19:37

Our Jemima was known as 'Jemmy' when little. Has become 'Jem' to her friends. Her sister calls her 'Jim' to wind her up!

Moohoomeltdown · 11/11/2015 19:38

Puddle duck.

Sorry OP, you asked Smile

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 11/11/2015 19:39

I like Jemima and have heard Mima used as a nn.

Julygal · 11/11/2015 19:44

Love Jemima. And mima. And Jem. Had to use it for my daughter's cuddly giraffe as ran out of children to use it on Wink. She's (the giraffe) known as Mima Smile

Katieemilyxo · 11/11/2015 19:46

Love that name!

Jw35 · 11/11/2015 19:46

Yes! Cute

Jemmy, Jem and mimi

Dungandbother · 11/11/2015 20:45

Another like very much from me

Littleonesaid · 11/11/2015 20:47

Think it's very pretty

manicinsomniac · 11/11/2015 22:46

I love it. I've taught several and most have called Jem or Mima by friends but are generally just Jemima.

Apparently it's off limits in the US due to racist connotations though - in case you think you might ever live there or have family there or anything.

turningvioletviolet · 12/11/2015 06:33

I have one. Her friends all call her Jem. I stick rigidly to Jemima (or Mimes, Mima, Jimmy Jams, Mima Moo etc etc - child actually answers to anything).

Winterqueen · 12/11/2015 12:08

It's lovely

Pandora97 · 12/11/2015 18:08

I really like the name but I personally would be hesitant to use it because it has such horsey connotations. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I've never heard it being used outside of the posh Primrose Hill type set. That said, I think Tabitha and Annabel used to be viewed similarly and they're much more mainstream now so maybe Jemima is going the same way.

Lottiedaydreambeliever2014 · 12/11/2015 18:09

This was our girls name till we found out it was a boy, lovely name.

PisforPeter · 13/11/2015 09:35

Beautiful name. Our neighbour is known as Mima affectionately.
