Florence Blossom?

What do you think of my front running girls name?

I think I really like it, but am finding it so hard to be sure.

So I thought I'd put it out there for some honest opinions! x

I love Florence as a name but the two names together sound a little flowery, hippy ish. What about Florence Eve?

thinkingoutloud2 · 10/11/2015 16:02

My other options are Florence Anne, Florence Jean, and Florence Beatrix.

Blossom is the name of a cow, like Clarabelle. It's not good, but put with Florence (which is fine) it manages to become even worse. Even though the cow character is Ermintrude it still makes me think of The Magic Roundabout.

Tiggeryoubastard · 10/11/2015 16:04

Beatrix (fantastic name) is too much with Florence. Both are full on, strong names. Not keen on Jean, Eve and Anne are good.

villainousbroodmare · 10/11/2015 16:05

I love Florence but not Blossom. I think it's even a little bit hard to say.
Of the other three I like Florence Jean. Or Anne. Beatrix doesn't flow for me.

thinkingoutloud2 · 10/11/2015 16:06

Thanks, I agree about Florence and Beatrix being too much together. Do you prefer Anne or Jean as the middle name?

Or do I go with Beatrix, which was my original favourite, until most of my family said that they didn't like it..

Jean is great! I know a Jean in her 20s and she really pulls it off.

Elis1905 · 10/11/2015 16:17

If I had to choose, Anne is marginally better than Jean but both sound really old fashioned not in a good way. Love Beatrix but yes too much with Florence.
What about Florence Rose?

villainousbroodmare · 10/11/2015 16:26

I prefer Jean.
Do you prefer Flo, Flor, Flurry, Florrie, or Bea, Bee, Trixie? I would not much like Trixie and I reckon it would be inevitable.

thinkingoutloud2 · 10/11/2015 17:53

Or Flora? Flora Anne?

Are you familiar with the phrase "Spread 'em, blossom, see if I know you?"
I think many people are.
Florence, yes.
Blossom, no.
How about Florence Primrose?

SecretBondGirl · 10/11/2015 18:14

Love love love Blossom make sure you include it. Florence is ok

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 10/11/2015 18:21

Florence Jean, then Florence Beatrix. You won't say the middle name overly often anyway.

MrsDallowaySaid · 10/11/2015 18:25

Florence Blossom was my actual first choice... Do it! I wasn't allowed ??

Tiggeryoubastard · 10/11/2015 21:54

timelytess I remember it differently - 'drop em, Blossom'.
Spread em is Flora (sorry, thinking).

Sunshine511 · 10/11/2015 22:09

Florence Olivia?

timelytess · 10/11/2015 22:14

Spread em is Flora
Thanks. I'd never heard that one!
Blossom is still out, for me. 'Drop 'em' isn't as graphic as 'Spread 'em' but its off-putting all the same.

DramaAlpaca · 10/11/2015 22:47

Florence is a nice name.

Blossom reminds me of cows and those old fashioned knickers called bloomers. Not a fan at all, sorry.

SecretBondGirl · 11/11/2015 07:57

IMHO You should name your dc whatever you like and sod everyone else

Ham69 · 12/11/2015 07:25

Love Florence Beatrix
