Hi all...

Our second baby is due in January, we know it's a boy and are finding it tough to decide on a name, so thought i'd put it out there for any suggestions and help...

So, our first little boy is 2 in Decemeber is named Jack Stephen Cullen. It totally suits him and we love it.

Names we're favouring for No.2 are.:

Samuel (Sam) John Cullen
Edward (Ted) Cullen
Henry John Cullen
Freddie John Cullen

We love Edward/Ted, but as our surname is Cullen, we're slightly put off by the whole twilight thing. We have never watched it, but are aware of the Edward Cullen character. I'm sure it won't follow the child around as it will long gone before then...but still.

Anyway, be good to get unbiased thoughts!

Thanks in advance
T

I like Samuel and Henry best. I don't like Ted (sorry), though I do like Edward but bloody HATE Twilight so I might avoid.

Daniel
George
James
Michael
Thomas
Dominic

I would avoid Edward Cullen. How about Ted short for Theodore instead?

Otherwise I like Henry John Cullen best.

Edward Cullen Grin A lovely name before Twilight but I just couldn't do it now. Jasper, Emmett and Carlisle are the other Twilight Cullens btw.

Henry is my fave from the remaining names.

Suggest Edgar, Peter, Oliver, Damian.

Thanks for the comments.

I agree with the Edward reference. We're more likely to say f*ck it and go with, rather than worry about some pretend vampire from years gone with the same name.

Our current favourite is Sam / Samuel.

Thanks again.
Tim

I love Samuel, dd would have been Samuel if she'd been a boy

reuset · 04/11/2015 22:36

Samuel is lovely.

manicinsomniac · 05/11/2015 16:42

I would definitely avoid Edward Cullen, sorry. I agree it's lovely but, even though children probably won't pick up on it and the reference will fade, every adult you introduce him to as a baby and toddler will go, 'Edward? Edward Cullen ?!' and you'll get sick to death of it!

Theodore Cullen is a good option if you want Ted. My favourite is Henry though.

WooLulu · 05/11/2015 20:05

Sorry to be the lone voice of dissent but I really dislike Henry! Suppose I just think of hooray types...

I like Ed/Ted but there seem to be a lot of Teddies around at the moment. Really like Theo/dore and Sam.

Toadsrevisited · 05/11/2015 20:07

Edmund? Nn Ted

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/11/2015 20:21

Love Edward but an absolute NO with Cullen.

Samuel best of the rest.

Sophronia · 06/11/2015 00:16

I'd also avoid using John if you have a Jack already, as Jack is traditionally a nickname for John.

reuset · 06/11/2015 03:04

Yes, do, of course, avoid Cullen. People might think that you were a fan of the Twilight books, and that would never do. I joke not Shock

Samuel Cullen sounds beautiful
