Sibling for Martha

We are struggling to find a girl's name for baby #2. We have a Martha and I love vintage names or something not too popular but nothing to floaty and frilly. Any ideas?! My faves are Eliza and Edie but husband not so keen. Any help appreciated!

I have a Martha. My other girls names were Violet and Harriet. I also liked Flora but DP vetoed it due to it sounding like margarine. And it is floaty so that very well may be out.

I also like Meredith but some people are funny about the two M thing.

Love Violet but already used as middle name-silly me! Flora isn't too floaty but I have the margarine problem too sadly Blush.

Thanks all, some lovely selections. What do people generally think of Olive? Does it conjure up trips to the deli counter too much?!

Olive was one of the names I suggested. It's a nice name in itself but its not to my taste personally. How ever I suggested it as it does fitg beautifully with Martha.

autumnmoon · 03/11/2015 09:47

I know a little Olive and it suits her down to the ground. Doesn't conjure up deli trips for me.... watch Little Miss Sunshine for a full appreciation of the loveliness of the name!

Love it

celtictoast · 03/11/2015 09:50

Olive is becoming fashionable but I prefer Olivia.

Ekgh · 03/11/2015 10:40

Anyone come across an Oriel?

I know a Martha with a sister Alice.

Olive is one of my favourite names. I have an Eve and was asking before if Eve and Olive are an acceptable subset!

Ekgh · 03/11/2015 10:53

Fab, I think Eve and Olive go really well together, similar style but not too samey.
