Baby girl is currently 4 days overdue, need to settle on a name!

We like:

Abigail
Matilda
Adelaide

Probably with Ivy as a middle name, and she has an older sister Jemima Rose.

Thoughts on the above, and suggestions for alternatives?

Thanks!

Love love love Adelaide!

WednesdayRebel · 02/11/2015 06:52

Thanks Hormonal - it's a late addition to the shortlist but then again, so was Jemima

My favourite is Abigail.

slightlyconfused85 · 02/11/2015 06:55

I like Matilda best but I do know 3 little ones born in the last year. Adelaide is also lovely

SummerMonths · 02/11/2015 07:01

I love Adelaide and Matilda. In comparison Abigail is a bit dull. Would you shorten Adelaide (Ada?) and Matilda (Tilly, Tilda, Milly, Mattie?).

I love Matilda, then Abigail. I'm not keen on Adelaide. Good luck.

Letmegetanamechange · 02/11/2015 08:39

Please chose Adelaide, it's beautiful Smile

celtictoast · 02/11/2015 09:03

Abigail, definitely.

Binkybix · 02/11/2015 09:23

Love Adelaide

Sophronia · 02/11/2015 10:37

Adelaide! It goes very well with Jemima too.

BikeRunSki · 02/11/2015 10:43

Adelaide, definitely.

handonhip · 02/11/2015 11:17

Adelaide, lovely. Unusual, too.

WednesdayRebel · 02/11/2015 11:51

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh has since decided he's gone off Adelaide Hmm

Jemima is fab. I'd choose Adelaide but probably not with Ivy as since Adelaide is also a place it makes her name sound like a type of Ivy

IoraRua · 02/11/2015 12:52

Abigail. Matilda is fine but more popular ime.

WednesdayRebel · 02/11/2015 19:59

We're in Australia and Matilda is definitely less common here.

I think OH has gone off Adelaide because it's a bit too much like a place rather than a name.

ashesandfire · 02/11/2015 21:44

I LOVE Adelaide. Although I'm not sure it goes well with Ivy as mn.

CharmingChampignon · 02/11/2015 23:53

I wouldn't use Adelaide if you're living in Oz as people will more naturally think of it as a place name IMO.

I'd definitely go for Matilda - and I love Jemima!

WomanScorned · 03/11/2015 00:01

Jemima is my favourite girl's name at the minute. I'm not sure any of your 3 possibles quite live up to it. I do like Matilda, but know quite a few. I would pick it out of your 3, especially as its not as popular over there.
I also like Elizabeth, Annie, Verity, Cecilia and Angharad, though probably not enough to use them. I always struggled to think of girl's names, so it's just as well I only have boys :)

JellyBaby26 · 03/11/2015 00:04

Dislike Adalaide . Matilda Ivy is lovely!

WednesdayRebel · 04/11/2015 11:46
