We are waiting for our baby girl to arrive and can't decide between Margot and Iris - which do you prefer? And which goes better with older brother Archer (nn Archie?)

I prefer Margot but I really don't like flowery names.

They're both nice. Iris wins out a little bit in my mind, I haven't heard it for a while wheres Margot is a bit more popular around me.

Sophronia · 17/10/2015 11:59

I prefer Iris, but both are nice.

Slugonthewindow · 17/10/2015 12:01

Both lovely. I would go with Iris and Archie.

ToddlerTantrums · 17/10/2015 12:03

Love Iris, not a real fan of Margot

Oly5 · 17/10/2015 12:03

Iris
Margot is too severe

AnemonesCloser · 17/10/2015 13:17

I like both!

LumelaMme · 17/10/2015 13:35

Iris means rainbow. I love it.

reuset · 17/10/2015 14:33

Margot. Iris is more trendy round here.

ashesandfire · 17/10/2015 14:47

I really like both. Iris just pips it but I think Margot goes better with Archie. I find it difficult to say Archie and Iris together?!

celtictoast · 17/10/2015 19:14

Iris

hawkmcqueen · 17/10/2015 19:22

Archer and Iris sounds quite similar to me so I would pick Margot.

alteredimages · 17/10/2015 19:29

I like Iris because Margot is too Ballet Shoes for me.

I am not trying to be a ponce but I like Iris much better when pronounced the French way. Can you move to France? Grin

Dogsmom · 17/10/2015 23:03

Definitely Margot, Iris is a very sharp name.

Junosmum · 18/10/2015 08:36

Alteredimages- how do the French pronounce iris?

Iris gets my vote- it's top of my list.

Wigeon · 18/10/2015 08:45

I know sisters called Margot and Iris! With a third sister called Tilly (Matilda). So how about Matilda as well?!

Think Margot goes marginally better with Archie. Are they both fine with your surname?
