So we are having our 4th DC (and last!) and we are struggling to find a name for this little girl.

Other DC are:
Erich, Liam and Lorelai

I would like a non top 50 name that is feminine and quirky. DH isn't really bothered to try and come up with anything but certainly will veto the ones he doesn't like (so he's very unhelpful). I am originally from the US as well so hoping to find something that could work for both countries.

So far DH hasn't hated:
Annalise /Annalyse (not sold on spelling yet)
River
Antigone
Willow (actually DH says this makes him think of Warwick Davis but I'm hoping to swing him round)

Would love opinions on these names or suggestions on others we might not have thought of yet.

I love Antigone nn Tiggy. Who cares about the literary connotations?

Vashti

Morwenna
Matilda
Elfrieda
Rowena
Freya
Maeve (Irish queen from an ancient saga; would go with the Irish name Liam)

Kerenza or Carenza.

My (modern) Greek dictionary has Cally 'oppy (rhyming with hoppy) for Calliope, although I've heard the other pronunciation. Stress on the short o.

AuntGertrude · 25/10/2015 07:15

I've only ever heard Calliope pronounced Cally-ope-ee with the emphasis on the 'oh' sound in the middle.

Annalise - quite like it with that spelling (or Annaliese? Def not Analyse as another poster suggested - that's just a verb isn't it - to analyse!)
River - quite like it. Quirky. Could be hard to pull off but it's cool
Antigone - don't like this but do think Tiggy is cute. I actually know 2 but one is named after the other.
Willow - quite like it - could be awkward if child ends up not being willowy though.

How about:
Astrid, Antonia, Alexis, Ariel, Aria, Allegra, Athena, Aubrey, Avery, Bronte, Briar, Cassidy, Calypso, Cherry, Dulcie, Devon, Effie, Etta, Ebony, Fenella, Fabia, Giselle, Harmony, Indianna, Imelda, Jerica, Juniper, Jocasta, Jessamy, Karina, Leona, Larissa, Miranda, Nyah, Nia, Ophelia, Octavia, Piper, Phoenix, Quinn, Romilly, Rowena, Ramona, Rowan, Rhiannon, Sorrel, Saskia, Sapphire, Taryn, Verity, Xanthe, Zia

I immediately thought Astrid.

Lorelei was "related" to the Rhinemaidens.
