What shall I do with our spare name?

Went to hospital for dc1 with boy name and girl name. Used the girl name.
Went to hospital for dc2 with initial boy name and another girl name. Used the boy name.
Ready for dc3 now with a new boy name and a new girl name. One won;t be used.
Do not want a pet. But I am rather attached to both names...

The car? DC3 's teddy?

First teddy for the baby?

Car?
Houseplant?
Pet rock (I know you don't want a pet, but they are minimal upkeep)?
Use it as nn for dh?

Find the other gender version of the unused name and have it as a middle name.
Eg

Charlotte Paula
Paul charles

Got middle names sorted.
Teddy bear my be the answer - have so far been using the names dh has vetoed over the years for teddies.

I have 3, boy, girl, girl and had the same boy name picked while pregnant with two girls if they had been boys. I love it, it goes perfectly with DS's name & I thought they were both boys while pregnant (DD1 coz they thought she was going to be huge & DD2 coz I thought I saw a willy on a scan!) so was sure I'd be using it! And now there's a boy in class with DD1 called it so I hear it every day!

Part of me feels like that name belongs to my little boy who I haven't met yet. Another part of me thinks having a 4th child just to try to use a name is insane. Which part will win?!

Freeze it

Save it for when you DC have kids and then suggest it over and over again un til they preptuate the tradition?
Give your house that name?
Change DS's name by deed poll?
Plant a tree?

I got it (seriously) I'm sure there are charities where you can foster a wild animal and name it. Give it that name!

Oh my gosh "baby blabber" I am the same! I want a fourth child so that I can name them!!!
