I think I've found the ultimate 'dodgy spelling of normal baby name to try and make it unique'

Grace is quite a nice name. So is Gracie as a nn.

So what's the consensus on 'Graicae'? Hmm

I saw Tae-Leur in a magazine once. Took me ages to work it out.

thegiddylimit · 05/10/2015 22:21

My favourite ever interesting spelling is Abbeygale.

DaimYou · 05/10/2015 22:22

La-a was on the class register at a school I worked in for a few weeks. Unfortunately not an urban myth. Maybe it started that way....

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 05/10/2015 22:26

I'll take a guess at Taylor, Molly. Am I right. If so. How bloody stupid. If I wanted a unique spelling for Taylor. I spell it. Taela. Taila Tayla.

blueandgreendots · 05/10/2015 22:27

I looked round a nursery recently and saw one of the clothes pegs labeled Daniyal. Not as good as Airwrecka though

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 05/10/2015 22:29

Airwrecka. WFAF. Is that. !!!!!!!

FeelsLikeHome123 · 05/10/2015 22:31

I'm not sure it will work, people will actually find it easier to use her real name or give her a different nn

mollyonthemove · 05/10/2015 22:36

I think it must have been Taylor, yes.

Pipbin · 05/10/2015 22:43

The urban myth L-ia always gets dragged out on these snotty threads.

I've taught in a school with one, but it is never believed.

NannyOggsHedgehogs · 05/10/2015 22:46

Daniyal is the Arabic spelling though?

Thefuckinggrinch · 05/10/2015 23:07

I raise you Klayre...

Effic · 05/10/2015 23:12

I'll call your klayre ..... and raise you a Quklowii
Sigh

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2015 23:13

Klaake, anyone?

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2015 23:14

Chloe Effic?

Raichelle is always a lovely one Hmm

Pipbin · 05/10/2015 23:17

Is that Chloe Effic?
As for elQuin........ um Clark?

Effic · 05/10/2015 23:19

Yes - well done . Took us an age to figure it out at school.

Pipbin · 05/10/2015 23:25

But the 'qu' at the start is redundant.
It is arguable that Klowii does say Chloe (when you think about it there is no 'ch' sound in Chloe and if I saw loe on its own then I would read it as low) so it could be argued that Klowii says Chloe more that Chloe does.
But there is no need for the 'qu'.

SouthernComforts · 05/10/2015 23:30

I know of a little Jaxon

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2015 23:31

Yes, Clark/Clarke Pipbin

We could have a lot of fun here:

Ozka'a
Rewbin
Mathyu
Cevin

Eersiula
Fiibii
Hidey
Klahrah

Grin
TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief · 05/10/2015 23:34

Daniyal is the Arabic version of Daniel. Translated phonetically from the Arabic spelling.

MaisieDotes · 05/10/2015 23:35

Chloe isn't an English name though pipbin so English language rules don't apply to its pronunciation.

It's Greek I think.

Pipbin · 05/10/2015 23:37

A good point Maisie.

LolLolLoLol · 05/10/2015 23:43

I won't believe the La-a until I see it on the official baby names register. I haven't yet!

Pipbin · 05/10/2015 23:47

The England and Wales one only shows when there are 3 or more so there might well be some, but only 2 a year.
However the Scottish one shows all names...........

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 05/10/2015 23:51

Ds pronounces his name as "Maffoo". Maybe I should have spelt it that way......
