I need help . 20 weeks and not one potential name. DHs shortlist:

Boy:
Roman
Gabriel
Jonah
Leo

Girl:
Jessica
Emily
Alice
Bridget
Penelope (that's one I suggested earlier but went off it but DH keeping it in the mix)

Lists are in order of most-least favourite . I'm just not sure about any of them I am really struggling to like any name Sad

In that case, go back to the drawing board with girls' names. Get a baby names book for inspiration, or perhaps you could draw some inspiration from favourite books?

Your names are really similar to the ones we were considering, so if I can remember I'll give you the other names on our list:

Natalie
Carys
Eliza
Nadege (pron. nad-ezh, its French and DH thought it was too weird)
Bronia (DH has E. European blood)

... but we had two boys, so we never needed any of them!

Yes I think you're right I need to have a rethink. I just have no inspiration. Sad

I have my scan a week today I might just find out the sex make it a bit easier Confused

Roman and Bridget most definitely. I cant use either Sad

Jonah for a boy and I'd think again for a girl

juneau · 15/09/2015 13:43

Yes, find out the gender first. If its a boy it won't matter about girl names.

Jw35 · 15/09/2015 13:45

Gabriel and Alice

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 15/09/2015 22:32

Leo or Emily Smile.

I'm assuming that you already have one DD & one DS as you say you're now on "second best" names?

I felt like that when looking for a name for DS2 - until about 38 weeks. The only boys name I really loved (apart from DS1's name) was a short version of a longer name so we went with that! I still love it but still really don't like the long name - which is on his birth certificate but no-one has ever called him.

Gabriel and Emily were both on our lists at one point, I also like Alice.

mayaknew · 16/09/2015 14:07

Yes we have one of each . Think we will find out the sex on Monday and take it from there.

Gabriel I really like, not really your other boys names.

Jessica and Alice my favourites of your girls names. Emily is ok but very popular. Bridget is rare these days, an interesting choice.

mandy214 · 16/09/2015 14:18

Of the boys, I like Gabriel.

Girls - hadn't heard of Nell for a shortened version of Penelope - I don't like Penelope at all but Nell is lovely.

Bridget - I think it may depend on your age / religion but I would associate it with a holy communion added extra to satisfy granny, or with Bridget Jones. Sorry!
