Lilah Grace Lampe. Last name is pronounced "Lamp-pee." Too much alliteration? I kind of love it, but MIL says it's too much, and I'm afraid she may be right. Also, do you hate the spelling of Lilah?

I think it is great, very distinctive, and pretty too.

fairyfeatures · 09/09/2015 15:58

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you're making me like the name Lilah again but I've already decided on another name.......

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 09/09/2015 16:34

It sounds lovely altogether but would she just be known as Lilah?

Lilah Lampe doesn't sound great to be honest.

jaggy77 · 09/09/2015 19:33

Yes, she would just go by Lilah. Grace would be her middle name and not generally used.....

I'm not keen on alliteration personally.

Hiddlesnake · 09/09/2015 19:41

I think it's a little bit too far out. If you repeat Lilah Lampe it sounds like filler song lyrics from an 80's soft rock ballad. Sorry.

FeatheredTail · 09/09/2015 20:35

I thought I'd drop in to say my RL name is an "L" alliteration too and I love it! I didn't change my name when I married but it would have remained the same. I think it's quite catchy.

Pretty name too.

MamaLazarou · 09/09/2015 21:20

It's lovely, go for it.

Sophronia · 09/09/2015 21:44

I prefer Lila spelled this way.

FunkyPeacock · 09/09/2015 21:49

I don't mind alliteration and don't think you need to avoid L names necessarily but I'm afraid I don't like the sound or look of Lilah Lampe

mrsschu · 09/09/2015 22:34

I generally like alliterative names and the name Lilah is nice also BUT Lilah Lampe is just too many l's, it sounds quite clunky.

Junosmum · 09/09/2015 22:53

I agree with the rock Ballard comment. Even started singing it. Prefer Lila as a spelling too.

FizzyGood · 09/09/2015 22:56

People (teachers etc who have not heard surname pronounced) might read it out to sound like Light the Lamp.

UrbaneFox · 09/09/2015 22:59

what about Delilah Lampee

ThunderbumsMum · 09/09/2015 23:00

Isn't Kate Moss' daughter called Lila Grace?

jaggy77 · 10/09/2015 18:49

Yes, I read that Kate Moss' daughter is Lila Grace after I googled the name myself. It seems I'm getting mixed reviews on my name choice. Perhaps my MIL is right :-( I'm not going to throw it out yet, but I'll come up with some new options. Thanks!

Too much imo. Similar sounding maybe:

Delilah G L
Dahlia G L
Selena G L
Juliana G L
Ariana G L

CrapBag · 11/09/2015 11:50

I like it and think it sounds fine. Lila is a lovely name but I don't like the h on the end. Love Grace as a middle name (DD has it so I'm biased obviously). What about double barrelling Lila-Grace?

AMonsterInParis · 11/09/2015 11:58

Love the name Lila, but the h on the end of Lilah makes me think Li-lahhhh! I like Lila Lampee. I like a bit of alliteration!

Dixiebell · 13/09/2015 14:24

I think because L is in the name as well as starting it, it's too many Ls. Other L names sound better with surname - Lois, Lydia, Lyra even.

scatterthenuns · 13/09/2015 14:25

Isn't that Kate Moss' daughter's name?

thehypocritesoaf · 13/09/2015 14:58

I love alliteration and lilah is v pretty.

KoalaDownUnder · 13/09/2015 15:02

I wouldn't worry about the Kate Moss thing. I'm sure she's far from the only Lilah Grace out there!

I do much prefer the spelling Lila though.
