Lara, Eden or Imogen

Due in a few weeks (popularity of a name doesn't put off at all as I have a fairly obscure name)

Lara, Eden or Imogen (nn Immy)

Dh's cousin has an Eden, boy. I don't like it.

Imogen then Lara.

I try saying names in other language accents to see what they sound like and on that basis Lara wins with Eden second.

I love immy/imogen. (Though should mention that I also know a teenage imogen who is known as Mog-which suits her very well!!)

I know teenagers named Eden and Lara.

I love Lara, it was in our shortlist for DD2. Imogen nearly made our shortlist too but its popularity put us off (I know lots of babies called this). But you said that doesn't bother you. Eden is awful imho.

So I say Lara, closely followed by Imogen.

I know of four Edens, strangely. Two are stroppy teenage girls, and two are volatile teenage boys, which puts me off the name enormously. And it was a very pongy perfume back in the 90s.

Lara is beautiful, simple and quite classic, and Imogen has always been a favourite name of mine. Both are winners, I reckon.

I don't like Lara because of Lara Croft. Imogen is too popular and Eden is too unusual for my tastes. I guess Imogen if you don't mind a popular name and Eden if you want an unusual name that will raise eyebrows.

Eden really seems to be like marmite- does it sound like it's trying too hard to be trendy?

Imogen. It's my name and I love it :-)

I quite like Lara. I think Eden is maybe a bit trendy/faddy and will date.

Definitely Lara, it's beautiful.

Don't like Imogen, and dislike Eden due to the religious connotations (Garden of Eden etc.)

Lara :) my friend has a dd Eden and when I mention her to others, she is quite often pressumed a boy
