Brendan Craig or Rory Craig

Hi there, I am due to have DS2 in under 2 weeks ????. However, throughout my pregnancy we have struggled with names. I really want Craig as the Middle name. Can you guys please help with ideas of names that sound good with Craig as a middle name please. I am edging towards Brendan but can't think of a shortened version/ nickname.

Thanks x

The beauty of Brendan is that it doesn't really have a nickname.

Rory doesn't either.

I would pick Brendan because it would be unusual.

I'd also be leaning towards Brendan - nice name and not many of them his age around!

I suppose a Brendan could be nicknamed Bren, B or Dan? The thing with nicknames is that anyone I know who has one, it has evolved itself without the parents deliberately choosing it.

I don't think Brendan needs a nickname anyway. Or Rory.

My Brendan gets Brendy. There are loads of Rorys all of a sudden.

Brendan (and similar Brenda) are a bit on the dated side for me at present. Rory (and other spelling if applicable) is great. Also very similar to Brandon for me (which I do dislike), which was super popular and has only recently fallen out of top 100.

I prefer Brendan. Nicknames could be Bren, Brenny, Dan, Danny...

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 06/09/2015 12:15

Rory Craig for me.

GoldPlatedShitGibbon · 06/09/2015 12:19

Definitely Rory out of those two, not keen at all on Brendan, sorry.

WankerDeAsalWipe · 06/09/2015 15:53

As a name I prefer Rory to Brendan but Brendan is definitely the rarer of the two. Are you looking for a few more suggestions along similar lines?:

Ross
Brandon
Alistair
Alexander
Brody/Brodie
Ruaridh
Gregor
Cormac
Euan

or why not have Craig as a first name? Never that many of them but not too unusual but doesn't really date either.

Rory Craig.
