Just wondering what people think of the name Jersey for a girl?

I live in England and would think cow, jumper or island. It really isn't a name.

bamboostalks · 21/08/2015 15:30

No way. That's not nice at all. It's actually weird.

Scoopmuckdizzy · 21/08/2015 15:38

I know of someone with a baby girl named Jersey.

Scoopmuckdizzy · 21/08/2015 15:38

I don't really like it though.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 21/08/2015 18:19

Thank you for the replies :)

Surname Royal?

LynetteScavo · 21/08/2015 18:24

Well, initially I thought NO....then I thought Why Not? Then I thought Jersey Cow.

BeautifulBatman · 21/08/2015 18:25

Potatoes. New ones.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 21/08/2015 18:25

Is this another joke thread, in the worthy cause of cheering MNers up?

Perhaps connected to the thread from a couple of weeks ago about the poster who was not, nor had ever been a cow?

Call her Mitmoo, OP.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2015 18:27

It's bloody awful. Sorry, but it is.

Rainuntilseptember15 · 21/08/2015 18:28

Children will call her cow.

MagalyMaman · 21/08/2015 18:30

I think COW

scatterthenuns · 21/08/2015 18:32

The only Jerseys I've ever known were nicknames that because they are from there.

LumelaMme · 21/08/2015 18:39

My first thought when I saw the OP was MOOOOO.

Ifiwasabadger · 21/08/2015 18:45

I'm from Jersey, god no!

Nonnainglese · 21/08/2015 18:51

Ye gods and baby goldfishes, are you serious?
Potatoes, cows, cream, jumpers.... Why not Gurnsey, Alderney, Channel?

Pity the poor child.

Girlfriend36 · 21/08/2015 18:51

Some quite mean replies on here Hmm

I don't think its that bad but there are thousands of much nicer girls names, why not just use Jessica / Jessie?

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 21/08/2015 18:54

I like Jessica but would always think of Jesse as a boys name.

Some of the replies on here are hilariously rude! Grin

PantryofWhoGivesAFuck · 21/08/2015 19:16

Moo!

monkeyfacegrace · 21/08/2015 19:18

I know a lovely guy who has a daughter called Jerzie. Its fine.

processingincorectly · 21/08/2015 19:20

Why not, if Brooklyn and Madison and Sky are fine?

hazeyjane · 21/08/2015 19:20

I like it

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 23/08/2015 14:23

I know one (aged 8). Not a fan (of the name, not the child.)

mrstweefromtweesville · 23/08/2015 23:20

Brooklyn, Madison and Sky are not fine.
