The final four!!

Icklepickle101 · 19/08/2015 20:12

Me and dh have spent hours upon hours choosing names and we have finally decided on 4, agreeing to choose the final 'one' when we meet him/her!

We have Thea/Tilly with the middle name Rose and Noah/Hugo with the middle name John, followed by a double barrelled surname.

Is there one combination you would choose other the other? Our pfb will be 1/4 Asian if that influences your decision at all?

All lovely names! I like Thea and Hugo best but Noah and Tilly are nice too.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 19/08/2015 21:10

Thea and Hugo are my favourites but they are all lovely names

Thea Rose and Noah John

I'm so relieved, we are keeping names secret in real life so was good to hear they are okay!! Thanks everyone, also quite surprised it's been unanimous so far!!

Thea and Hugo.

Tilly is a nickname (short for Matilda) and while Noah is a lovely name, it is very popular right now, and has been for the last 10 years or so.

StevieJo · 20/08/2015 12:41

I'd choose Thea Rose and Noah John...Tilly is cute, as a nickname for Matilda and darling on a newborn and toddler but can't imagine it as a full name that people will take seriously when she's an adult. Dr Tilly last name?

SerenaVanDerWoodsen · 20/08/2015 13:19

Thea Rose and Hugo John are my favourites.

Agree with what has been said about Tilly, I also see it as a nn (and not one I'm personally keen on). Noah is fine but very popular. Hugo strikes me as a bit of a posh name but that's not a negative comment, just how I personally see it.

Thatsnotmybabyname · 20/08/2015 13:24

Thea and Hugo.

BlackberryandNettle · 20/08/2015 14:28

I like Thea, Noah and Hugo but also wouldn't use Tilly as a full name - much too weak as she gets older and as an adult.

BlackberryandNettle · 20/08/2015 14:35

I think a good test for which name is can you imagine shouting it in a playground, or saying it repeatedly in public to get their attention? can you imagine it on a baby, teenager and professional adult? Really like your middle names too by the way

Enkopkaffetak · 20/08/2015 22:10

I think Thea is a pretty name but I really do not like it with the mn Rose I think it is to much to say together.

I love Noah I know it is popular but I think its a great name so I would go with Tilly and Noah.

Cookie122 · 21/08/2015 20:15

thea rose and hugo john

RabbitSaysWoof · 21/08/2015 20:19

Tilly and Noah. I don't rate Rose as a mn, it's a bit of a standard filler now.

SevenSeconds · 22/08/2015 07:42

The problem with Thea is how to pronounce it - have you seenthis thread?

itsraininginbaltimore · 22/08/2015 07:44

Hugo is the new Noah. There will be loads and loads within a couple of years. I like it though, and I like Noah.

Love Thea, don't like Tilly. Thea is classy, Tilly is too twee and girly.

itsraininginbaltimore · 22/08/2015 07:44

Thea Rose is perfect.

Furchester · 22/08/2015 07:49

Thea and Hugo, definitely. Both strong, classic and not overly-used.

I am not so keen on Rose as a middle.

John is excellent. Nobody is using John at the moment - my DC3 has it as a middle and I am very fond of it :)

Icklepickle101 · 22/08/2015 08:54

I agree to with what's been said about Rose but for us middle names were very political and had to be family names and it was between Rose and Grace, and we decided rise sounded much much nicer with our surname!!!

The Thea thread is interesting, I've never heard anyone pronounce it any other way than theea!!
