Heard this name recently
Is it too out there or usable?

It's a new testament name meaning gift of god.

I definetly prefer Zebidiah to Zebedee....a bit too out there for me. Brings to mind the song zippity do dah zipity aye for some reason.

For me Wacky. There is a newsreader, Zeb Soames, who I guess may be a Zebedee trying to hide make the most of the name he was saddled with.

There are some lovely biblical names, but mainly Old Testament. Sorry but for me Zebedee isn't one of them. It would be a nightmare at school.

Makes me think of the magic roundabout and drugs.

I know it's a real name but think of the child .... I think Zeb is awesome though.

StevieJo that made me laugh - It's not really a name I am considering, I just heard it and wondered what people thought of it :)

There was another Zebedee thread on here within the last couple of weeks. I think it's at the sprightly end of Biblical. Certainly a better idea than Job, which was being discussed the other day. The Biblical Zebedee just gets a name check, as far as I remember, rather than hanging about on a dung heap being persecuted by God.

MaddieUK · 10/08/2015 09:16

I think I would prefer 'Zebediah' - I really like Zeb but the full name sounds a bit too religious to me for some reason.

ReallyNotAMorningPerson · 10/08/2015 09:25

I knew a Zeb once, didn't think anything of it, it was just his name. Nice and a bit different though.

reuset · 10/08/2015 13:35

Zeb makes it work very well for everyday. On the surface it's a bit wacky, but I know of one or two, now I think of it, and in reality doesn't raise eyebrows that much (one has sister Genevieve).

CakeRattleandRoll · 10/08/2015 15:02

I like it. First reference would be Magic Roundabout for me, but not for younger generations.

Alisvolatpropiis · 11/08/2015 01:20

It is ridiculous, irrespective of its Biblical origins.
