Sister for Violet

orangemouth281 · 06/08/2015 21:02

DD1 is Violet Rachel and we are expecting DD2 in December. Names on the list so far are

Ivy
Verity

and that's it! We like traditional names but they don't have to have a V in. Any suggestions?

When my dd was little she wished her name was Violet but when I asked her what middle name she wanted she said VinegarGrin hth

ElleCloughie · 06/08/2015 21:37

We are considering Violet as a sister for Alice if DC2 is a girl. I think they go nicely together

orangemouth281 · 06/08/2015 21:52

I love Alice, thank you. I'm not sure about Vinegar though.

Our surname starts with an S so I worry that Iris doesn't flow very well, same problem with Alice. I really love both names though.

Dsis is due before me and Elizabeth is her top girls name. If she doesn't use it I think we will consider as a middle name.

Lots of suggestions to consider.

Verity.

I know a Beatrix and Violet, and think that's rather nice

SavoyCabbage · 06/08/2015 22:31

I know a Daisy and an Ivy and I always feel a bit sad for Ivy. Daisies are all bright and sunny and ivy is dark and cold. Maybe that's just me though.

Verity is a lovely name, but yo 'd run the risk of having two dd nicknamed "Vee" by their school friends.
