So our son is called Morgan, and we are expecting baby number 2.

I'm nowhere close on a boy's name, but top of the list for a girl is Merryn.

But do Morgan and Merryn sound too similar? As if they should be twins or like some awful Kardashian spin off?????

I think they sound too similar.

GoooRooo · 04/08/2015 19:34

It would be too similar for me, but we deliberately chose names which started with different letters (and different letters to our own names too) so I am a bit fussy like that.

coff33addict · 04/08/2015 19:38

far too close, sorry.

thunderbird69 · 04/08/2015 21:35

How about kerryn?

scatterthenuns · 04/08/2015 21:40

Morgan and Merryn doesn't work for me either.

cheminotte · 04/08/2015 21:44

Too close I'm afraid. Like GoooRooo I prefer at least a separate initial for each member of the family.

barbecue · 04/08/2015 22:47

Too similar I think. Will you tell us your other options?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 04/08/2015 22:58

Yes, too similar for me too.

I love a PP's suggestion of Kerryn though - or Erin?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 04/08/2015 23:00

And, if you like that type of sound to a name, have you considered Torin for a boy?

WankerDeAsalWipe · 04/08/2015 23:36

I like it but then my two have names with the same initial and all 4 of the letters in DS2s name are in DS1s 5 letter name a fact I didn't notice until I was ordering in wooden letters for their bedroom doors :o

cornwallsharon · 05/08/2015 13:27

Yes you've confirmed what I thought really - we deliberately avoided mine and my husbands initials when picking our son's name so it seems silly to double up at this point. Not too keen on Kerryn as it'll get shortened to Kerry I expect, but Erin is lovely and not on my radar at all until now. Definetly one to run past my husband! Thanks all!

I actually quite like them together and love Merryn. How about Aderyn? Or Meriel? Or if you're feeling a bit Disney - Merida?
