Getting to Gus

Thinking of Gus for upcoming DS3, however would like a longer name on the BC - would love to hear your suggestions, as outlandish and tenuously linked as possible because the traditional ones (August etc) I'm really not sure on..

Augustus
August
Guy?
Magnus

All the guys I know called Gus are either Fergus or Angus, I love both names but maybe if you really love Gus but hate these go with just Gus? The Gaelic for Angus is Aonghas (an-OO-is) and can be Gus, obviously if you're using that everyday pronouncing Aonghas won't be an issue!

Magnus
Angus
Fergus
Augustus
Cassius (might be a bit of a stretch!)

I know a gus called gustarvo.
I love gus but dp hates it :(

SingForBacon · 27/07/2015 18:58

Guiseppe?! Gunther?

EmmaWoodlouse · 27/07/2015 20:31

I'd probably go for Angus because I love it, but I agree that you could use Gus on its own. Plenty of people have been registered as Charlie or Billy or Fred in the last few years so why not Gus?

hawkmcqueen · 27/07/2015 21:03

I would choose Magnus, nn Gus, love it x

Paddingtonthebear · 27/07/2015 21:03

The only Gus I ever knew was called Giles

ollieplimsoles · 28/07/2015 14:42

I really like Magnus, its very popular in Scandinavia.

My brother's name is Cassius and he in Swedish

OnlyTheDepthVaries · 28/07/2015 16:29

I've got a Gus...short for Angus. Cracking name!!

PennyHassett · 28/07/2015 17:07

Love the name Angus, but is any one else thinking Finknottle?

Timeandtune · 28/07/2015 17:12

Yes me Penny. And would I be right in thinking you are an Archers fan too?

PennyHassett · 28/07/2015 20:45

Absolutely right Timeandtune!
