Lydia, Lisa or Lizzie (Elizabeth)

Just that really - not even pg yet but contemplating another and my mind going into overdrive after a couple of glasses of merlo ... We have a boys name sorted but musing the above. Also if Lizzie, I think I prefer Elisabeth with an s (though I know she will spend her life spelling it...), but if so is Lizzie to far an extension?
Existing DC have pretty normal names (uninspiring but we like them!), think along the lines of Joseph, Catherine, Rebecca etc
Any thoughts gratefully received

I know an Elisabeth and her friends call her Lizzie. They often shorten it to Liz though, and she really dislikes that.

Our Elizabeth is called Lizzy Smile

GoooRooo · 25/07/2015 21:36

The Elizabeths (Z, not S) I know are Lizi, Liz and Beth.

Lydia

mrsmeerkat · 25/07/2015 22:32

don't like Lisa or Lizzie that much but Lydia is lovely

wickedwitchNE · 25/07/2015 22:40

Love Lydia!

guineapig1 · 25/07/2015 22:43

Ah thanks all, logically, I lean towards Lydia but DH who has had the rest of the merlot and is joining in my musings is pressing for Lizzie (Elizabeth) after his lovely late aunt which the sentimentalist in me can also see. Objectively I also appreciate that Elizabeth is a fabulous name...

Eliza for Elizabeth is lovely?

guineapig1 · 25/07/2015 22:45

Argh Spydra, you are completely right, I will also now have to add that to my considerations!

I know two little girls called Lydia and Elizabeth (she is Lizzy for short)

I love both their names.

Could you use Lydia Elizabeth, then you get both names!

guineapig1 · 26/07/2015 21:14

Well yes Bake that is one possibility. We have got a family middle name which we could use and we both like but not love iykwim.

I strongly second Eliza

sarararararah · 29/07/2015 18:08

Definitely Lydia! I have one, now aged 7, and I've never regretted it. It's a great name!
