We think we are having another DD, but not 100% sure so have a short list for both options. DD is Isla, we are scottish. Want a short name as our surname is long. What do you think of these options?

Zoe
Eilidh
Mairi
Ellen

Callum
Fraser
Euan

Thanks!

Zoe or Mairi
Callum or Fraser.
For some reason I appear not to like names beginning with E

MotherFluffyBottom · 22/07/2015 10:12

DS was going to be Mairi if he was a girl. I liked Zoe too. Out of your boys names I like Fraser the best.

GoooRooo · 22/07/2015 10:13

Zoe, Ellen or Fraser

Sophronia · 22/07/2015 11:15

Eilidh or Mairi, and Fraser or Euan.

JakeyBurd · 22/07/2015 12:39

I like them all, to be honest, although least keen on Ellen and Fraser. Not helpful really! Smile

loolah83 · 22/07/2015 12:50

Love Eilidh...much nicer than boring Ellie

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/07/2015 13:41

Ellen (but I don't love it - prefer Helen or Helena) and Callum

FatSwan · 22/07/2015 13:45

Mairi is nice. I love Callum.

LainyC13 · 22/07/2015 13:46

My Scottish friend named his daughter Ioni. I think it's a beautiful name

OhahIlostmybra · 22/07/2015 14:07

Thanks everyone. I really like Mairi but dh seems to think non scots won't know how to pronounce it - he is wrong isn't he?!

GoooRooo · 22/07/2015 14:22

I'm English, I'm not sure how to pronounce it but if I were to have a stab at it I'd say Mar-ree

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/07/2015 14:30

I wouldn't know how to pronounce Mairi. But does it matter if you are in Scotland?

I like Zoe and Ellen.

VenusVanDamme · 22/07/2015 14:35

Scottish too and I'd go for Zoe (was an option if DS had been a girl). Boys names are tougher as we went more Celtic but possibly Callum.

wigglesrock · 22/07/2015 14:51

I like all the girls names, they're lovely. I really only like Euan from the boys list, but I really like it.

OhahIlostmybra · 22/07/2015 15:42

Throughthick - well our future daughter may well not spend her entire life north of the border! Or deal with just scottish people....

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/07/2015 16:27

No but by then she would be old enough to correct people and take it with good humour, hopefully. While she's little, it wouldnt be a problem.

I wouldn't know how to pronounce Eilidh either.

CakeRattleandRoll · 22/07/2015 16:38

My favourites are Zoe and Fraser.

silverglitterpisser · 22/07/2015 16:41

I can't say am keen on any from ur girls list but second a PP with a tweak - Iona is lovely n goes well with Isla.

Of the boys I think Euan is really nice n suits Isla as well.

badg3r · 22/07/2015 16:50

Love all of them. how about also Iain for a boy?

OhahIlostmybra · 22/07/2015 17:25

I like both Iona and Iain but don't want siblings to have the same initial.
