Hi All,

So we know we're having a boy, we've narrowed it down to Enzo, Rufus or Hugo. Can't decide between them though, Hubby loves Enzo but the family HATE it, we both like Rufus and the family LOVE Hugo (i'm not sure)

HELP!!!!!

I really like Enzo, my friend's little boy is called Enzo and everyone loves it. A few were dubious at first but now we couldn't imagine any other name suiting him! Rufus is also nice. It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks other than you and your partner, running names by others first is always a dangerous move. Good luck - I'm sure whatever you choose it will be perfect!

BitOutOfPractice · 23/07/2015 16:36

Is Enzo a name? I've never heard of it! Sorry but it sounds like a clown's name to me Shock

Fugghetaboutit · 23/07/2015 16:51

I thought it was nickname for Lorenzo.

Skeppers · 23/07/2015 16:54

We're having a Rufus. The world needs more of them! Go for it! Grin

Skeppers · 23/07/2015 16:56

And, FWIW, I don't know any dogs called Rufus. Plenty called Ben and Sam and other names people wouldn't think twice to call their offspring!

BeautifulBatman · 23/07/2015 16:58

Not fond of any of them but if I had to choose, Enzo.

RiverTam · 23/07/2015 17:03

Can I also draw your attention to the beautiful Enzo Cilenti, lately if Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. On phone and can't work out how to attach a pic, but he is damned fine.

Amy106 · 23/07/2015 17:12

Hugo is my favourite from your list but I like the other two as well.

Greenwing · 24/07/2015 13:22

Surely you need to be Italian to use Enzo? If you are Italian then it is my favourite as Hugo sounds too much like 'huge' and Rufus sounds too much like 'roof' to my ears (well brain actually).

SanityClause · 24/07/2015 13:27

I like Hugo, of the 3. I don't really like Enzo, at all, and Rufus is okay.

Iamblossom · 24/07/2015 13:33

Hugo

Yarp · 24/07/2015 13:42

Hugo

Yarp · 24/07/2015 13:45

Sorry if you don't want extra ideas, but there are a couple I think are in the spirit of Enzo:

Raphael
Ezra

CrispyFern · 24/07/2015 13:57

Enzo, then quite far behind, Hugo.
Then quite a bit further behind, Rufus.

SingForBacon · 24/07/2015 14:01

I knew an Enzo, short for Lorenzo which I really like. I love Rufus and Hugo too! I think I wouod go with Rufus just cos I love the Bill and and films ;)

PallasCat · 24/07/2015 19:42

Enzo is great! If family aren't keen, and if that is an issue for you, consider having it as a nn for eg Vincenzo, Lorenzo, or similar?

Like Rufus a lot.

Indifferent to Hugo.

Good luck!

Thank you all for your input! Really appreciate it!!! :) x

Enzo sounds like a minor thug out of The Godfather.

Hugo is a bit pretentious.

Rufus is way too doggy. Not that I have ever met a dog called Rufus, but I've not met a Fido either.

God, sorry. Blush (At gunpoint, I'd go for Hugo.)

NadiaWadia · 26/07/2015 15:22

Rufus is nice. Hugo is overly posh. Enzo sounds a bit odd, like a lotion or something. This could be because I'm just not familiar with it, though.

Pick Rufus!

Shockers · 26/07/2015 15:22

Rufus.

It's a great name!

BothEndsBurning · 26/07/2015 16:22

Funnily enough I know, or have known, dogs by all three of those names! Rufus is a red setter, Hugo was a King Charles spaniel, and Enzo is a staffie.

Enzo, as you know, is short for Lorenzo or Vincenzo. I think you could get away with it as a nn for Laurence or Vincent without being Italian.

hawkmcqueen · 26/07/2015 16:47

Yep I would only pick Enzo of short for Lorenzo abd if u have Italian connections.

I prefer Hugo and don't like Rufus.
