My two favourites are Clara and Claudia. Any thoughts? Is Clara becoming really popular? Apparently Claudia means 'lame' but I'm not too fussed about that. Would she be though?

Clara. Sweet and simple.

Would claudia be clawed-ia or cloudier pronunciation?

MrsPeeee · 19/07/2015 07:56

Clawed-ia if we used it.

Clara is the favourite I have to admit!

Clara is beautiful. I work in a children's ward and we havnt had any new born Clara's - I don't think its that popular at all. Congratulations!

Sophronia · 19/07/2015 10:53

Claudia, it's more unusual and very pretty.

grabaspoon · 19/07/2015 10:56

I know a Cara and love that. However heard another child being called Cara recently (same age and area)

grabaspoon · 19/07/2015 10:56

I also know a Claudia - both lovely names

OwlOffshore · 19/07/2015 11:14

Both are lovely names.

I prefer Claudia. My brain starts the Long Distance Clara song from Pigeon Street when I say Clara. But I appreciate that's my problem... Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/07/2015 11:34

Absolutely love both of them, so no help at all! What mn are you thinking of?

reuset · 19/07/2015 11:35

Clara is more popular and on the rise. Claudia, less so, currently.

I prefer Clara, it's simple and elegant. If you want more unusual try Clarabel or Clarissa (or something in that vein) shortened to Clara.

silverglitterpisser · 19/07/2015 11:40

Clara is reminiscent of a cat's name.
Claudia is gorgeous, timeless n classy. I think u kno which I'd choose! Grin

Clara is reminiscent of a cat's name.

Surely Claw-dia is more reminiscent of a cat's name Grin

Clara edges it over Claudia for me. Although recently I seem to know quite a lot of babies called Clara if that matters to you. DH is German and about every third women there in her 30's is called Claudia (prounounced Cloudia) so in my head it feels like a common name but I know in the UK it isn't.

ashesandfire · 19/07/2015 15:36

Clara is beautiful.

PotOfYoghurt · 19/07/2015 15:48

I love Clara, and don't know any.
