Our surname begins with H and has 3 syllables. Middle name will be Lucy.
I like names that can work in France.

Helen Lucy H
Hannah Lucy H
Anna Lucy H
? Lucy H

Thanks

You do know that French people don't pronounce the H, yes? So Hannah will be pronounced like Anna anyway? Helen is Hélène in French but is pronounced Ell-enne (emphasis on 2nd syllable unlike Ellen in English)

For that reason I'd avoid names beginning with H. Unless you (and DD) won't mind the different pronunciations and like both.

I really like that you can get the nick name Nell from Helen or Helena. The latter is my favourite

Hellionsitem2 · 17/07/2015 12:09

Elaina is also very nice

Hellionsitem2 · 17/07/2015 12:09

Annie is such a cute nick name for Anna

Theoldshmoo · 17/07/2015 12:11

Alanah and Elaina are good names.

Sophronia · 17/07/2015 13:26

I like Helen Lucy

Helen but not if your surname is Highwater

villainousbroodmare · 17/07/2015 16:02

Love your own choices actually, Helen (Helene) being my favourite of them.

Thanks. I don't mind pronunciation changing in France, it would just be nice if it worked there as my work is in French, my son has a French name, and we'd quite like to live there at some point.

I was thinking Hen as a nickname for Helen, but Nellie could be cute as well.

I adore Nell as a nick name

NameChange30 · 17/07/2015 21:11

With the nickname Nell I would assume it's short for Eleanor, not Helen, but maybe that's just me!

Hellionsitem2 · 17/07/2015 23:45

Nell is a recognised NN for Helen but I agree it's more often short for Elinor
