I came across the name Raidon and just wondered if it's a 'known' name. Also is it pronounced 'Ray-don'?

I have never heard that name OP, it sounds like a cleaning product or detergent..

ShadowFire · 11/07/2015 09:34

it does sound like a cleaning product.

PoorNeglectedBike · 11/07/2015 09:44

It's a noble gas

patienceisvirtuous · 11/07/2015 09:50

Yeah, radon gas, not good.

Nannynome · 11/07/2015 10:00

Raiden was a character in Metal Gear, computer games

sweetpeame · 11/07/2015 10:01

Never heard it before and to be honest I'd feel sorry for a child or adult with this name...it does sound like a cleaning product...

Backforthis · 11/07/2015 10:02

God of the wind I think. Raiden.

Backforthis · 11/07/2015 10:04

I was wrong. Thunder and lightning.

Unoriginalusername123 · 11/07/2015 10:11

No it's not. And I know a child called Raiden. Aidan or Raymond would be though.

Sleepybunny · 11/07/2015 10:11

I must admit I thought cleaning product too when I saw it written down, but then hoped I was just pronouncing it incorrectly.

I think the family love quite 'out there' names. His sister is named Krystell

Raijin is the Japanese thunder god en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raijin Raiden is the English version.

The character - however spelled - features in several fight-based video games.

Aha, they clearly go in for "respelling" Grin

Raidon makes me think of insecticide, rather than detergent.

eve01 · 11/07/2015 11:06

Oww! this name sounds not good :(

madbunnygirl · 11/07/2015 20:34

Radon gas - something our house survey had quite a lot of detail on!

Absolutely not.

MrsPeeee · 12/07/2015 08:47

If you like that (and are put off by the detergent /insecticide feelings) how about Gradon?

Junosmum · 12/07/2015 09:59

Spelt Radon it's a chemical element which causes issues for home owners! I personally don't think it's a real name, but if I met someone called it it would be!

MamaLazarou · 12/07/2015 11:11

Kayden
Jayden
Braydon
Hayden

And now Raidon. This name has got legs!

reuset · 12/07/2015 11:30

Raidon - "Eliminates flies with just one easy application!" Grin

Sleepybunny · 12/07/2015 21:43

Grin reuset!

No unfortunately it is really not to my taste mrspeeee (thankfully).

I am expecting dc2, and I guess more conscious of names around me!

I have a lovely friend Reidun who is Norwegian

English folks tend to pronounce that Raydon although her DH pronounces it more like rye don.

Have you just heard the name or seen it written down?
Is the person Scandinavian?

MrsTedMosby · 13/07/2015 22:17

I know a Raydon and a Raijin.

Raydon always reminded me of the gas.
