Patty I love you!
I have a teen DD named Heledd and for the past few months have been stressed that I've limited her opportunities in life by giving her such a hard to pronounce name Hmm

thegreylady · 14/07/2015 15:47

I like Seren for a girl and Emrys for a boy.

PattyPenguin · 14/07/2015 18:52

Someone suggested Caled for a boy - please don't, it means 'hard'.

Aled, like Aled Jones, is acceptable - it's the name of a river.

Purplehulk, I believe the Heledd I mentioned is rapidly making her way up the ranks of a large and prestigious firm. Worry not.

Thanks absolutelynotfabulous and CeriBerry Smile

absolutelynotfabulous · 15/07/2015 07:54

patty surely they meant "Caleb"?

CeriBerry · 16/07/2015 01:06

Oh and in case it wasn't obvious, my name is Ceri- when I lived in South of England for six months I had a LOT of people pronouncing it 'Seri' but though it was draining at times, it didn't put me off and I love having a Welsh name, so I wouldn't worry too much about that!

BestIsWest · 16/07/2015 03:11

Just looked at your list again ad Bleddyn jumped out at me. I love it. I know there is the pronunciation issue with the 'dd' but I think it's lovely.

Izzy24 · 16/07/2015 03:24

Some lovely lovely names here. Has anyone mentioned Llinos?

But not a fan of Eirlys......ruined for me by a very nasty snake in the grass!

Well hello night! Long time no natter. Smile

As you know I am in Wales and also due in Feb, went on the baby names board for a bit of inspiration and thought "Oooh a Welsh names thread, I'll have a look at that". Well lo and behold it's your lovely self!!

Welsh names that we are thinking about:

Owen
Huw
Rhodri

Catrin
Rhiannon
Ffion
Nia

My DH really likes Osian, but I have an ex with a very similar name... I really like Carys as well, but it just DOES NOT work with our surname (dammit)! Welsh names are so lovely. Smile

Howdy banana how are you? How many weeks now? Scan yet?

DH and I love Huw but would it be weird for bean to have same name as my dad? Rhodri was going to be my middle name if I were a boy!

I'm good (nauseous though), 9+3 today.Smile Scan isn't until the 7th, feels like ages away!

I think Huw is lovely, and it's quite nice if he has the same name as his Granddad actually... But maybe that's just me! Grin

It will come round :) good to hear that you are ok. Is the nausea really bad? I have found that I can keep mine at bay by eating constantly which isn't great for the waistline!

Will continue to ponder Huw :)
