Will use nn Penny but will have two middle names very close to our hearts that I think flows better altogether with the longer Penelope. The middle names are
Johanna Bridget

What do you think? Smile

Sounds lovely and Poppy is a cute nickname too

reuset · 09/07/2015 19:55

Completely lovely. Nice middles too. I'm impressed!

mayaknew · 09/07/2015 20:32

Oh I love Poppy too but we are in Scotland and for some weird reason I'm not sure I like the way it sounds in our accent BlushConfused I don't know what it is maybe the harshness of it ? Tbh I think the Scottish accent ruins some beautiful names .

I really like it. Goes lovely with your middle names too.

KittyBennett · 09/07/2015 20:33

Love

GinAndSonic · 09/07/2015 20:41

I love it, my friend has a Penelope that is called Penny. She considered Nell or Nellie as nn too.

AlmaMartyr · 09/07/2015 20:53

Love it! Love the middle names too.

ollieplimsoles · 09/07/2015 22:05

Love it! but Penelope is the name we are using if this DC is a little lady- so I'm biased!

DramaAlpaca · 09/07/2015 22:21

Love it.

mayaknew · 09/07/2015 22:54

How old is your friends Penny Gin ? I don't know any at all so wondering how popular it is elsewhere . Although MN name popularity is different from where I live . Smile

Sophronia · 09/07/2015 23:50

GinAndSonic · 10/07/2015 09:02

Very nice name, not too common or unusual. Penny is a very cute nickname.

zippyswife · 10/07/2015 15:41

Beautiful. A good friend has just named her daughter Penelope. Very classic and elegant.

Rose58 · 10/07/2015 17:27

Love it - it's in my list!

Brummiegirl15 · 12/07/2015 18:56

I love it too! Not on my list as DP would never agree. But defo love it

floatyflo · 12/07/2015 19:01

I love it. I wanted to name my daughter it over a year ago. I didn't get so many positive response here on MN as you have now! I didn't get great reapers in RL either. Looking back I wish wish wish I had be brave enough to go for it.

mayaknew · 12/07/2015 19:52

Floaty that's the way I feel with DSs name . We named him a fairly popular name but I had originally wanted a similar but very unusual name , which actually would have had a family connection , but didn't because I didn't get a positive response and my dad said it sounded like a child trying to say a certain girls name and can't pronounce it properly HmmSad

This time I'm not telling anyone our names until baby is here and named (apart from MN obvs GrinWink)

We have a 2.5 year old Penelope. Don't know any others.

TremoloGreen · 12/07/2015 21:30

It's a good name to have Grin

Not met any little ones, in fact, not met many my age either...

ollieplimsoles · 13/07/2015 22:24

I'm due in October op!

Dh chose the name when we first started trying for a baby, and we have loved it ever since. If we have a girl her full name will be Penelope Marie

1805 · 14/07/2015 00:45

I know a 9yr Penelope. nn Penny.

Personally I don't like it, but everyone's different.
