Really like it! Refreshing.

Sophronia · 09/07/2015 23:51

I don't usually like surname type first names, but I do like Miller.

DramaAlpaca · 09/07/2015 23:52

As a rule I don't much like surnames used as first names, but I quite like Miller.

MabelSideswipe · 09/07/2015 23:53

Windy Miller (shows age).

Florrieboo · 10/07/2015 00:49

I love it. Great name. Never met one, but, really like it.

LucyBabs · 10/07/2015 00:51

Miller is an alcoholic drink...

IHeartKingThistle · 10/07/2015 00:56

Oh I hate it sooo much. I vaguely know a kid with this name and the mum shouts his name at him A LOT. She sounds like a knob.

Sorry, you did ask!

siiiiiiiiigh · 10/07/2015 01:01

Oh, god, no.

I married into a bunch of Millers

One's Windy

The other three have worse.

It's too soon

spatchcock · 10/07/2015 01:17

Love love love it. Never heard of Windy and I'll wager his friends won't have either.

Kids will call him Milly?! Like they call Will Willy and Sam Pam? Don't be silly.

Quasilulu · 10/07/2015 01:51

Not keen but I did laugh at the comment that he'd be a naughty boy. How bloody ridiculous! ????

SavoyCabbage · 10/07/2015 02:41

The Sam Pam thing is not the same at all. I imagine Allalone means that people will try to shorten it, like people do with friends names, and it will become Millie.

Miller
Mill
Mill-see
Mill-ie

That sort of thing.

Strokethefurrywall · 10/07/2015 02:45

Bloody love it! But then I have a Carter and a Sullivan so I'm big into the surnames for first names as you can tell!

CakeRattleandRoll · 10/07/2015 11:35

It does make me think beer...

BothEndsBurning · 10/07/2015 12:03

I don't like it at all as a first name. Middle name, fine if it's a family name.

FraggleHair · 10/07/2015 13:12

If I was going to pick an occupation surname I don't think I'd go for Miller. I'd prefer Cooper or Fletcher.

And there's always Chandler! (I don't actually suggest Chandler)

FraggleHair · 10/07/2015 13:15

Windy Miller would be great for when he was having a farty moment.

KatieScarlettreregged · 10/07/2015 14:34

I went to school with a Wendy Miller, lovely girl, but even as a kid I side-eyed her parents.
However, how many kids these days watch Camberwick Green and are familiar with the charachters?

sweetpeame · 10/07/2015 15:14

Not a good name. But I completely dislike surnames as first names. It sounds very American and IMO is dated already.

TheNewStatesman · 10/07/2015 18:54

It's very American sounding.

Also, with a British accent, I think I would hear it as Milla and assume a girl's name.

goodtimesinbontemps · 10/07/2015 18:58

It immediately makes me think of the beer! (And I don't even drink! )

MamaLazarou · 10/07/2015 20:28

I like it, despite the Windy connection! I have not heard of the girls' name Milla.

Appleblossom82 · 11/07/2015 06:59

This chap

What do you think of Miller?
MythicalKings · 11/07/2015 07:03

Silly.

BombaySapper · 11/07/2015 22:26

Awful, sorry.

froggyjump · 11/07/2015 22:35

As PP have said it's really surmane-y. Personally I prefer Parker, or Cooper in that vein, but I don't think it is horrible. The only problem I can see is if you have a surname that could also be used as a first name, and the two getting mixed up, Miller Cole for example could easily be Cole Miller etc
