I used to have to phone someone called Lim and that is how I pronounced it.

In some languages (in fact English is probably the odd one out here) i's are pronounce ee so maybe people would say Leem.

Before I read to the bottom of your post, I'd said "limb" in my head.
But then as a fellow 3 lettered surname person, I cannot believe the number of miss pronunciations and spellings it can generate. my much longer, but "more common" maiden name was miss pronounced and miss spelt a lot less.
