Name help!

After 4 months of ttc I am finally pregnant. Although very early we are already thinking of names as our best friends have just used what would have been our ideal girls' name (M a r n i e)

Our son has a traditional Gaelic name but living in England we have to explain it far too often so although we love it we probably would use any Irish names as a middle name.

So any suggestions to help us get over losing out!?

We like for girls: Indy, Seren, Lois, Sylvie, Willow and Juno but none as much as the above.

For boys: Sonny, Finn, Rex, Kit and Buddy but again not quite the one.

Not keen on royal names and we are not really top 40 people. All suggestions welcome!

That was my favourite name for a girl too, but we had boys. Poor you, are you sure you can't still use it?

I also liked Calypso, Juno, India, Flora. I like Willow, and Seren.

Not so keen on most of your boys names but I love Kit. Rufus, Silas, Seth, Lucas.

What about imani?
I believe it is a proper name, and you can call her marnie as a nn.

Marna? Marnie as a pet name. Or just use it?

Finn is a great name.

I think it's out completely as they're too close to us and we are all part of same group. It was pure coincidence so can't blame them - they have good taste!!

Calypso feels like an ice lolly and flora I group with Florence, Elsie, violet which are not to my taste. India is a possibility.

Not keen on Imani - but I have never heard of it so it means there are deffo names out there I just need to hear and could be the one!

That's a shame about Marnie.

Meren I pr. Merun and Merryn I pr. Merrin. I like both but are they the same name with different spelling or different names?! And are they too close to Meryl which I deffo don't like?!

I think Merryn can also be spelt Merrin. They don't make me think of Meryl!
