I like all of them, but Shiloh is too Brad/Angelina.

Favourite is Keziah I think, with Amara second.

Amara Jane
Keziah Joy

Both my DD's middle names :)

lauraa4 · 27/06/2015 10:49

I think the people making rude comments regarding OP's choice of names should show some more respect. If you bothered to look at the meaning of all of those names you would see that they are of Hebrew or Biblical origins. Maybe Meme23 is religious or originates from that part of the world herself, or maybe she just likes the names!

TheQueenOfSheba · 27/06/2015 10:51

Why are people being so mean? OP, I like Amara from your list. Also you might like Amira, it's Arabic for princess.

Zakken · 27/06/2015 11:28

A one-syllable middle name would sound nice with Keziah, but I would avoid anything with a sibilant at the end because it would clash with the S of the surname. So not Rose or Grace.

Also avoid a name beginning with a vowel as it will sound jerky with the -ah ending.

Keziah Dawn Something - some other good suggestions already made.

Two or three syllables can also flow well

Keziah Marie Something
Keziah Maria Something

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 27/06/2015 11:35

If by people you mean me.
Op asked a question. I answered it is a world wide public site. I gave my opinion, and my opinion still stands,

SkodaLabia · 27/06/2015 11:45

Is Keziah pronounced Ke-zee-uh or Kee-zee-uh, or another way? I think the first one is pretty, but don't really like the second, if that helps!

I love the look and sound of Shiloh, but given that my only knowledge of it is through Brangelina, that would put me off.

Not keen on Amara, but that's my own personal taste, I don't like Lara either, it's the 'ar' sound.

MishMooshAndMogwai · 27/06/2015 11:52

This is the second thread ive read today where posters have been judgmental and rude about someone's name list. Opinion is one thing but it shouldn't come at the cost of manners.

OP I know a 20 year old Keziah and a 4 year old Kadisha- both lovely names and lovey girls. (In a naice, middle class country village before someone comes on with shouts of 'chavtastic' and 'council estate')

Amara is pretty, ive not heard that before but I'm not a fan of Shiloh. I'm not opposed to the use of 'celebrity baby names' by any means so that's not necessarily the reason I don't like it.

I love more unusual, feminine names for girls, it feels like you can be more adventurous with girls names than boys!

Zakken · 27/06/2015 11:54

Keziah is pronounced Ka-ZIE-uh to rhyme with fire (sort of).

Not sure if that upside-down e character works on here but it should be

K?-ZIE-?

lauraa4 · 27/06/2015 12:22

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost I was referring more to the comments of posters saying they were 'celebrity names'. You are correct that this is a public site but being simply disrespectful is not on. As stated in my PP all of those names could be chosen for religious or ethnic origin reasons so saying they are as you would put 'a bit dramatic' I would class as extremely ignorant. Just because they are not Western names it doesn't make them stupid, dramatic or celebrity like.

SkodaLabia · 27/06/2015 13:22

Ooh, in that case I like Keziah very much!

LastNightADJSavedMyLife · 27/06/2015 14:04

You do need to gird your loins on here though. I have a DD Amelia - declared "common in every sense of the word" and a Claudia "lame".

Fuck 'em Wink

Zakken · 27/06/2015 14:15

The meaning of Claudia is "lame". It wont have been meant as a personal dig! Grin

OneDayWhenIGrowUp · 27/06/2015 14:17

I think the poster who said "a bit dramatic" was referring to the OP saying she was "desperate".

The whole point of this section is to ask anonymous strangers what their opinions are of names without them having to worry about offending you by giving their true impressions, as your friends/family would have to. I can't see anyone being disrespectful here. A name may well have ethnic or religious connotations; but if the overriding public awareness is as celebrity offspring, it's fair enough that people reply to the OP advising that that is the impression that some people will have.

A pretty useful service IMO.

Zakken · 27/06/2015 14:32

The only one that stands out to me as a "celeb" name is Shiloh. I'm well aware that it's a name from the Bible. But because of the parents' unfortunate failure to realise that, Spoonerised, their daughter's name sounds like Pile of Shit, that's the first thing that always comes to mind.

Meme23 · 27/06/2015 14:51

Thank you guys for all your answers and I really appreciate the time you take to comment on my post. I put Shiloh on the list because it's a bible name meaning peace, abundance i really didn't think of Angelina Jolie not a fan of celebrities. But i think I'm going with Keziah. Thanks again guys.

OP posts:
LastNightADJSavedMyLife · 27/06/2015 20:01

I know Zakken, and that it means "disabled". And some bore always always says that.

My name means "princess" but strangely people don't think I get to marry Prince Harry because of this.

LastNightADJSavedMyLife · 27/06/2015 20:10

That sounded chippy Zakken I am not holding you responsible for all Claudia name meaning-ers :)

Zakken · 27/06/2015 21:52

I thought you meant "lame" in the slang sense of boring or uncool. I don't tend to point out meanings because it doesn't usually matter. Unless I happen to know that they mean something dodgy in another current language, for instance I can sometimes not hold back from saying that Peter means 'to fart' in French. Grin

msgrinch · 27/06/2015 22:09

keziah is a current singer so seems a bit celeb like to me..Same with shiloh

Zakken · 27/06/2015 22:12

Well I haven't heard of her. Keziah what, or is it just Keziah?

msgrinch · 28/06/2015 07:51

keziah Jones. There's also kiezsa who's in the charts now, which looks similar. It's just to celeb wannabe for me. Each to there own though.

DulcetMoans · 28/06/2015 07:53

I know a real life Shiloh! I hadn't heard it before her but she is lovely so now I like it too!

Zakken · 28/06/2015 10:31

msgrinch This Keziah Jones appears to be a man who for some reason has chosen to use a woman's name as a stage name. He hasn't had any hits in the UK as far as I can see.

There's a pop singer called Kesha or Ke$ha, is that who you mean? That's not the same name. It's a made-up name, unlike Keziah which is a genuine name, found in the Bible, which has been in use for centuries.

It's just too celeb wannabe for me
If you are going to exclude every name that's associated with someone famous (or not very famous - your "celeb" bar seems to be pretty low) then what does that leave you with?

MirandaGoshawk · 28/06/2015 18:26

The 'current celeb' Kezia is likely to be around for about five minutes so can safely be ignored, surely? It's not like calling your kid Marilyn or Adolf, is it? Grin although Marilyn is lovely.

ArtichokeTagine · 29/06/2015 13:17

I really like Amara.
