Love it. Ds would have been Alice were he not a boy.

It has served me well for over 40 years

Sorry but I hate the name with a passion. However, it is largely to do with every Alice I have met being, quite frankly, horrid.

But its classic, will never date, easy to pronounce and spell and if you like it that's what's important.

I really don't like it either.

We did call her Ali bongo as a toddler. Actually, we used to call her alibongo from bingo land, so its hardly a shortened version

I have an Alice Eleanor. She is absolutely beautiful, the name suits her, it works in every context, and it's pretty and classic and strong all at the same time. I obviously think it is gorgeous :)

I have an Alice and for an affectionate nickname "Ally Pally" :)

I'm Ali to my siblings, everyone else has always just called me Alice. I've had the odd nn based on my surname or hair, but no other corruptions of Alice.

Really like it. For some reason it's one of the only 'classic' names I never tire of hearing. Somehow it has gravitas but manages to sound youthful and pretty at the same time. Don't think it needs shortening - most of the Alices I've met are just Alice!

Lovely name. It is actually perfectly possible to have a name that doesn't get shortened - I do, admittedly because I refused to answer to any of the many short versions of my name. Alice doesn't need shortening.

I love it but can't use it as SIL is Alex!

I like it. DD3 is an Alice. We call her Alice The Palace. But I'm thinking of switching to Ali Bongo from Bingo Land now

I have one. She is adorable. She was named after my adorable grandmother who pretty much brought me up. Apart from that it is classic, beautiful, pretty, noble, has no alternative spelling which helps if you have a surname pronounced as two syllables but written as three!!

Paradoxically she also has long blonde hair, is a bit quirky and is a good friend of a slightly mad marmalade cat

I think it is a name that is strong, feminine, vulnerable, kind, brave - all rolled into one.

..............and she thinks it is boring

Alice Olivia Daisy. (all my children have 2 middle names)
or Alice Phoebe Daisy.

Alice Olivia Daisy is stunningly pretty. I like Alice Phoebe Daisy too, but I think the Olivia helps it flow better. That is an absolutely gorgeous name. USE IT! :D
