Love it and a DF did it last year, it's a lovely name and suits her DS down to the ground.

Yes. Nice

Amy106 · 15/06/2015 20:21

Nice strong name and very easy to learn how to spell!Smile

BeautifulStars93 · 15/06/2015 20:32

I thought I would get a terrible reaction! does it go ok with sisters Isabelle and Eliza?

Lovely and goes well. I would go for Edward, but that's just me it's certainly not compulsory!

bostonbaby · 15/06/2015 22:00

Call him Ted!
Don't see the point in registering a name that you don't like and won't use.
"Hi, my name is Sarah but people call me Helen" it's just the same

Cazzybaby · 15/06/2015 22:02

Love it!

grabaspoon · 15/06/2015 22:17

Ted 2 the film comes out this summer.

sweetpeame · 15/06/2015 22:32

I like it and it was a strong contender for DS but DH only likes it if it's short for Theodore or Edward at a push, so we've disregarded it. I think it's fine to use on it's own.

TakeMeToTheMilk · 15/06/2015 22:58

I'm very likely to call my baby Ned....just Ned. I don't understand using a BC name and then never calling your child by that name. Just Ted is a great name.

twinjocks · 15/06/2015 23:13

Love it.

mrsscarlettbutler · 15/06/2015 23:22

Love it. This is our #1 choice for DC1 if it's a boy (due in October). I don't like Edward/Theo/Theodore, I LOVE Ted and Teddy - really don't see the point in adding so-called formal name that we don't like, when the name we love is Ted.

I originally just wanted Teddy but DH has convinced me that Ted as the 'official' name might be better as he grows up.

mrsscarlettbutler · 15/06/2015 23:23

Ha just seen your other DC names - Isabelle is currently #1 contender if it's a girl!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/06/2015 23:35

Don't like it by itself. Fine as a nn. Otherwise it sounds like a toy.

BadHenry · 16/06/2015 00:23

It's good.

Wouldn't do Teddy as a name by itself(too babyish), but Ted is fine.

Dixiebell · 16/06/2015 10:24

I have a 2.5 yr old Ted. I didn't like any of the longer versions, so just went with it. He generally gets called Teddy, but like mrsscarlett we thought Ted might be more grown up as he gets older. There are a fair few Teds/Teddys around though, in case you think you're choosing something rare or unusual!

00100001 · 16/06/2015 10:28

As long as you don't mind people trying to call him Theodore or Edward - go for it :)

00100001 · 16/06/2015 10:30

I would personally choose Edward to go with Isabelle and Eliza and call him 'Ted' for short :) (I guess you call the others by shorter names?)

undoubtedly · 16/06/2015 10:34

Love

whatsagoodusername · 16/06/2015 11:40

I like Ted.

Personally I would go for the longer name and use the nickname, but nothing wrong with Ted. But I like long names with nicknames. More versatile.

Dixiebell · 16/06/2015 19:40

Never ever had anyone try and call my Ted Edward or Theodore. Occasionally people ask if it's short for something but not always. It's pretty common as a name in itself.

poocatcherchampion · 16/06/2015 19:43

I know 2 and think it is a ridiculous name, sorry. A bit juvenile. Like super ted

Although I am now wracking my brain that that guy from 3 men and a baby might have been called ted and that was acceptable (to me).

BeautifulStars93 · 16/06/2015 19:47

isabelle gets Izzy.
eliza doesnt get shortened x
