Expecting DC2 shortly and we already have a Naomi.

What do you think of Sadie? Does it go with Naomi and what would you have as a middle name with it?

Thanks!!

I love Sadie.

But it seems the sort of name that everybody loves, but nobody actually uses. I have no idea why.

fiveacres · 14/06/2015 22:23

I like it, very much.

Sadie Alexandra
Sadie Eleanor
Sadie Elizabeth
Sadie Felicity
Sadie charlotte?

I thnk it goes nicely with Naomi. I like them both as names that are unusual enough that there aren't hundreds of them but not so much so that people are Hmm when introduced.

Sadie and Naomi sound like lovely, pretty, clever and sensible girls to me Grin

I love it. Why do sibling names have to go together though? Never understood that. As long as it goes with the surname it's fine.

sweetpeame · 14/06/2015 22:35

Sounds nice and goes with Naomi (not that it massively matters!). Re middle names, just either pick a name you like or use a family name. I'm firmly of the opinion (although it's not popular on mumsnet!) that middle names are largely irrelevant.

Kittykatmacbill · 14/06/2015 23:35

Love it! Would have been on the short list for ours but doesn't work with our (peculiar) surname Confused

kyyc96 · 15/06/2015 00:46

Yes I love sadie! And naomi is such a nice name aswell so defo goes, and sadie may, sadie louise? Depends on the lastname aswell in a way xx

Strokethefurrywall · 15/06/2015 00:58

Fab name, use it!

reuset · 15/06/2015 01:03

It's ok. I'm a firm believer in 'proper' names, and you can guarantee somebody will come along and say use Sarah as the full name, but I think this works well alone.

Rhubarbgarden · 15/06/2015 11:09

I dislike it. Too lightweight for me; it doesn't sound like a proper name.

Zzzsnatcher · 15/06/2015 15:03

Yes lovely. I met a one year old Sadie at the weekend x

Sophronia · 15/06/2015 16:01

Not keen, it reminds me of 'sadist'

momtothree · 15/06/2015 16:05

DD friend gets call sado and shady .... might be her character though! Also common dogs name.

PallasCat · 15/06/2015 19:38

I think it is a lovely sounding name but I do think it's now retro-faddy, sorry. If not it'd be on my shortlist probably!

Rosieliveson · 15/06/2015 19:42

I really like it. It means princess.
I'd like it on list for DC2 but my DH isn't as keen Sad

villainousbroodmare · 15/06/2015 19:43

Very popular for dogs.
But then so are Max, Ben, Molly, Daisy and many more that people like on here.

AliceAnneB · 15/06/2015 19:47

I've only known old Jewish ladies or dogs with the name Sadie. I wouldn't choose it but it's fine.

cashewnutty · 15/06/2015 20:43

My dog is called Sadie! She is beautiful.
