What will the top baby names of 2015 be?

I've been thinking of Theodore or Maxwell for DS but on here both are generally described as overused even though they're not particularly high on last year's list. Now I'm was wondering what this year's top names list will look like.

So, if you know any babies born in the last year, what are they called? Or, if you're expecting and have decided already, what are you going for?

The only baby I know who is under a year old is an Adam.

Plus more baby boys I know called Oliver, Charlie, Jacob which have been v popular around local baby groups for a while!

Girls are harder to call as much more variety - I know several little Erin's, Ava's and Abigail's.

Max was really high on last year's list though - I think top 20. I guess you were searching for Maxwell, but if you combine all the names that will probably end up being shortened to Max (Max, Maxwell, Maximilian, Maximus) it ends up even higher. I think all the baby Max's I know how different birth certificate names, I know 2 Max, 1 Maximus, 1 Maximilian all under 1.
There was a website that combined names like this to give the overall popularity, but typically I can't find it now!

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 03/06/2015 15:43

Babies born in the last year:
Max x 2
Maximilian,

Xavier
Xander
Alex
Max
etc.

HuftysTrain · 03/06/2015 20:11

Max and Theo have been around a while now. I don't see them suddenly shooting up.

I like both names btw. Theo has the edge for me.

Surf25 · 03/06/2015 20:37

Love Theodore (biased!) and like Max, prefer the shorter name to any of the longer versions but that's just me! Please go for a name you love!
As for babies in past twelve months I know
Jamie
Elijah x 2
Josh
Oliver
Theodore
Hamish
Robert
Oscar
Caleb
Struan

Isla x 2
Cora
Emily
Nina x 2

MamaLazarou · 03/06/2015 20:39

Arabella is going to be huge.

Also, Theodore and Theadora.

getbusyliving · 04/06/2015 00:28

Violet
Henry

wesH · 05/06/2015 10:57

For girls there is an increasing number of Violets, Phoebes, Matildas and Isabellas. For the boys there have been a lot of Noahs lately

manicinsomniac · 05/06/2015 12:03

I don't think the top 10 will change much from last year. The shifts happen slowly.

I think Amelia will still be number 1 for girls.

ThreeGoldStars · 07/06/2015 15:49

MAX 2,836 MAXX 15 MAKS 8 MACS 4 Total = 2836

I got this from the British Baby Names Website. I am not sure if that is the website that AbbeyRoadCrossing was thinking of.

This is all the combined spellings of Max, registered in 2013 (most recent available statistics). ALTHOUGH this does not take into account any babies called Maxwell or Maximilian. I should imagine you could get those additional figures from the Office of National Statistics' Website. You csn normally get the full list of boys' names, if you go into "boys' names", and then look at table 6.

Hth.
