Baby name getting to like??

Hi. Sorry bizarre question !!! I had a baby boy over 4 weeks and we couldn't pick a name. I made a list and my hubby had one which I thought was hard to pronounce but with practice became second nature. I thought we would go with this and my hubby told this name to my wee girl which she told at school. We were under pressure to choose one and in end husband found one on my list we went with. I think I regret not going with his as had nice meaning and not letting myself warm to the name my wee boy has now. I think I was put about when I went into my wee girls school this week and they thought wee boy was called name wee girl gave them so had to say we were deciding on name. Everyone knows him now by a name do I need to just not be thinking too much. Anyone felt like this out there ... My girl liked this name in the end so thought it would be ok.... When will I feel this is his name and not be thinking about it and pondering all the time.... Think school episode didn't help... Any advice or Help!!!

My advise would be to have a look at both names again and really decide which is the family's favourite. Make the decision and stick with it. All this second guessing and overthinking will drive you mad otherwise.

Congratulations on your new arrival Grin

I'm not sure how you pronounce that name, but if you are living in Ireland they will Wink not everyone will love your name chose but what's important is that you and your family love it.

I personally would set a time aside, really discuss which is the best name for your baby out of the two and then go with it. Could you maybe have the other name as a middle name?

I think I like my husband choice but my hubby would not want to change a name now as everyone knows him as his name now... Anyone ever feel like this???.. Feel in awful situation... Overwhelmed....

Tell your husband how unhappy this is making you, I would just change it, 4 weeks is nothing compared to the child's lifetime. People may remark but will soon move on with their own lives and forget baby was ever called anything else

It's v hard. What if I made wrong choice. Ppl says a name grows on ya... I would definitely get used to a name. Am so V confused. This is hard. Wish I could talk to anyone in same boat, but they hard to come by??

I know tons of people who've had a change of mind in the first year. It's easy to tell lots of people by text with something like 'after much indecision and trying out various baby names we have decided to call our baby xxxx which means bla bla'

How can names be changed once registered?

You can do it at the registry office up to one year old. Then after that deed poll on line
