Henry or Theodore?

Hello,

DS is due in a couple of weeks and I think we have finally come down to our final two, except that I keep going back and forth between them.

Our DDs are called Josephine and Iris.

Which one would suit best and do you prefer?
We are not planning on using Theo on a day to day basis. He can when he is older if he wants but we would use Theodore.

I absolute love both and cannot make my mind. Help!

Thank you. :)

Why not both? Theodore Henry works. When he arrives, look at him and decide.

I love Theo, but it's become quite usual round here. Henry is classic and timeless.

So I'd go for both. And when he's older he can choose.

Henry. Can't go far wrong with the name of 8 British kings and 4(?) Prime Ministers.

Theodore is nice too but will date to a much greater extent.

Either would go well with your girls' names.

DampAndRotten · 30/05/2015 20:37

Anything but Henry. It's a horrible name (imo!).

MagentaVitus · 30/05/2015 20:38

Henry by a country mile.

PlainHunting · 30/05/2015 20:42

Love Henry

Don't like Theodore

abram12 · 30/05/2015 21:54

I think even though you wouldnt use a nn, he would probably end up being Theo at school etc, so that might grate on you? Also there are so many about at the moment that it feels a bit faddy....

Henry is a fabulous, strong and handsome old name, you can't go wrong!

Sophronia · 30/05/2015 22:18

I like Theodore best with the girls names.

Smugnogplease · 30/05/2015 22:38

Henry. Fab name

mrstweefromtweesville · 30/05/2015 22:41

Either. Both are wonderful names.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 30/05/2015 22:58

Agree on both names working together. Theodora Henry or Henry Theodore,

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2015 23:08

I prefer Henry, but both are great with your girls' names.

Teawaster · 30/05/2015 23:14

Henry but I'm biased

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/05/2015 23:14

My great great grandfather (and great great uncle) were both called Henry Theodore. Both great names, and we would have carried on the tradition had we had a boy.

ancientbuchanan · 31/05/2015 00:05

Don't forget another nn is Ted or teddy, as in Roosevelt.

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 31/05/2015 10:27

Henry is just so boring. He'll be one of 4 in his class. Theodore is so much better.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 31/05/2015 13:53

Henry, by far.

Orange6358 · 01/06/2015 20:32

Adore theodore

wesH · 02/06/2015 09:57

How about one as a forename and the other as a middle name?

fionadal · 02/06/2015 14:31

Henry - there are lots of Theos and Henrys around, but, as someone said above, Henry is more timeless.

Having said that, if he was Theodore nn Teddy (e.g. Roosevelt) that might get round the uber-popular-Theo problem! I don't know any Teddys, but know about 8 Theos under 6!

Good Luck

sweetpeame · 02/06/2015 15:01

Henry is fine but a bit dull... I'm not crazy about Theodore but LOVE nn Ted (would register him as Theodore so he has options later).
