Were staying team yellow.
I love Charles/Charlie and I know its a traditional name but would he be 'just another Charlie'
The only other name we both like is Max/Maxwell but it doesnt wow us.
Fiance is so fussy!

I think it's lovely and I love traditional names too. They are timeless. Also, if you like it, go for it! It's hard to find a name you both agree on a when you get one its a bonus :) congrats xx

ShadowFire · 29/05/2015 20:38

If you love the name, I wouldn't let the popularity put you off.

MamaLazarou · 29/05/2015 21:04

How about Maximus or Maxim?

Charlie is a very versatile slang word (cocaine, fool, tits) which would put me right off.

Rivercam · 29/05/2015 21:06

Charles is a good classic name.

ShadowFire · 29/05/2015 21:07

I've never heard Charlie being used as slang for tits Confused

Kasey86 · 29/05/2015 21:11

We have a Jack which is traditional but still modern I think. Boys names are way harder than girls.

Sophronia · 29/05/2015 21:27

Charles is a great name.

JakeyBurd · 29/05/2015 23:52

Sorry to veer off topic but, Charlie means tits? Shock

Bird or human? If human, Charlie is singular, so does it mean one tit? Would you talk about tits as charlies? Or does the singular Charlie refer to one pair of tits? How would you use it in a sentence?

P.S. Nice name choice OP.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 30/05/2015 11:47

Yes boring over used boring unimaginative. One of the most horrible boys names there is. IMO,
But it's obviously all those things over used ect due to popularity and popular for a reason. So if you like it no one else's opinion should matter

MamaLazarou · 30/05/2015 11:49

Yes, tits as in breasts, not birds.

Show us yer Charlies.

JakeyBurd · 30/05/2015 15:16

Thank you MamaLazarou!

itsnothingoriginal · 30/05/2015 15:33

I think Charles/ Charlie is a good name but yes, around here you would be Charlie + surname in any group/school situation!

If you love it, go for it but it bothers you even slightly I would choose something else (although you never know what's going to become popular next of course Grin)

reuset · 30/05/2015 15:57

Charles and Max (versions of) are not boring. Shows confidence the child will stand out for what they achieve and who they are, not only because they have a so-called 'non-boring' name like Eagle, Pluto, or Abracadabra

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/05/2015 16:07

Charlie is great. Prefer it to Max.

Never heard it referred to as tits before, think that's just in your house Mama
