Help needed with pretty but unusual girl's name

Hello, 7 weeks to go and starting to panic that she will remain unnamed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Our criteria
Really pretty
Can nickname (mine can't be and would've loved to be nicknamed)
Our surname can be pronounced 2 different ways and it is annoying to correct so need a name easy to pronounce so Dd won't have to correct both names
Short surname so longer would balance it nicely
Surname begins with a D
Middle name will be Marie
Really uncommon would be great
English names preferred but I am half Danish so might be nice to include

We currently like...
Everly - worried it is too uncommon and have had lemon face reactions
Esme - worried about pronunciation me or may
Betsy - already a nickname
Coralie - worried it is too French and we have no connection to France
Clementine - dh loves but I don't like the nickname Clemmy
Elsie - family don't like it
Elodie - dh says it's just melody without the m

Would love to have something with a cute nickname like...
Emmie
Izzy
Addie
Ezzy

Really want to avoid the nickname Ellie

I hope you can help and thanks in advance

Eek just realised Verity would leave her with the initials VD! Any other way of getting the nn Etty?

OP posts:
diddl · 26/05/2015 13:21

For Etty, all I can think of is Esther, Harriet, Henriette/a

FoamyOne · 26/05/2015 13:23

Cecilia (Cici, Celie, Sissy), or even Cecilie if you want a nod tobyour Danish routes (although there may be a pronouncation issue with this).

FoamyOne · 26/05/2015 13:25

Eloise, which could gradually become Elsie Grin ?

SkodaLabia · 26/05/2015 13:32

Ottilie, then you get OMD. Smile

Everly -

Esme: ugly, frumpy name; can't understand why so many people love it so much

Betsy: I think its fine on it's own but it could be a nickname too - Elizabeth is the obvious choice but maybe steer clear as it is a very common one. Could also be short for Bethany or Bethan at a push.

Coralie: if you want a French name but don't want to sound "too French" try Amelie? It's in the same vein as Coralie but more heard of in the UK. Similar names could also be Cora, Coral, Caroline, Corrine, Cordelia, Cornelia

Clementine: I think this is a nice name

Elsie: Sounds like a nickname

Elodie: it does sound like Melody without the M. Melody is a nicer name, too

NICKNAMES:

Emmie - Emmeline, Emilia, Emily, Emira, Emmanuela, Emma, Emelda, Emerald
Izzy - Isabelle, Isadora, Isanne, Isolde
Addie - Adelaide, Adeline, Adelyn
Ezzy - Esmerelda (yuck..)

Miriam - Mimi

Ramona, Romy
Emmeline, Emmy
Liberty, Libby
Teresa, Tessy
Candice, Candy
Margaret, Maggie or Peggy

I also love long names that can be shortened and always planned/expected my DCs would be given nicknames. It's nice to be known by more than one name, though I don't know why I feel like that! My own name can be shortened but weirdly I DON'T like it when people I don't know well shorten it. No idea why it bothers me but it does!

The only name I really don't like shortened is Deborah - can't bear Debbie or Debs but like the full name.
