Help!

Dh and I both love the names Charlotte and Juliet/juliette. (Name will probably be the latter because of the princess being called Charlotte)

However, our surname begins with T.

Is this wierd?

If it's a boy we want Thomas so will be TT which I am happy with although I think people might question it.
Advice please ??? ?

Feel like I'm missing something... Why would initials JT be weird?

ellstor · 22/05/2015 08:51

Because of the girls name ending in t and surname beginning with t. Worried it doesn't flow.

It's the girls name that's a concern rather than boys.

I feel like I am missing something too.

You are concerned that
Juliet Travers
Charlotte Travers

would be weird?

ellstor · 22/05/2015 10:20

That is what I am saying yes. Obviously just me!!!

Sounds fine. And Juliet is a lovely name, one I didn't get to use.

Allthatnonsense · 22/05/2015 10:27

Unless Juiette Tette should be fine!

FatWalda · 22/05/2015 11:53

I know what you mean, and yes, it is slightly awkward. The 't' sound of the forename is likely to disappear and be swallowed up in the T of the surname.

What about Julia? A beautiful classic name that is not everywhere at the moment, but is quite timeless.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/05/2015 11:56

So you don't like Juliette Taylor/Charlotte Taylor for example?

I think it's absolutely fine.

BikeRunSki · 22/05/2015 12:14

It's just you OP

50ShadesofNope · 22/05/2015 12:19

I can see where you're coming from.
Depending on how you speak the crisp 'T' sound at the end of the forename can get a bit lost in the T of the surname, making the names blend together a little bit.
I don't think it's a huge problem though. It's still very clear what her name is and Juliette is lovely. If that's the name you love then go for it Smile

Compared to some of the stuff on threads like this it's absolutely fine. What was it the other day - Willyum Grin.

Juliette's a lovely name.

OpheliaBitz · 22/05/2015 12:32

I know what you mean, but I think in this case it's fine; somehow the shared consonant is not as obvious with the letter T as with some other letters (consider Dawn Naylor, for example)

Charlotte and Juliet(te) are beautiful names.

ems1910 · 22/05/2015 12:36

Sounds fine to me! I adore both names, Juliet is on my list!

pilates · 22/05/2015 13:09

Can't see the problem, fine to me.
