We liked it with dd1 & dd2 but nevet used it. Family say we'd regret not using it again.
But were unsure as you can see from previous thread we like Alice and Annie too. Annie we have liked with dd1&2 also. Alice is a fairly new like.

Love it.

urbandream · 17/05/2015 21:59

Absolutely love it

SueBigFatSue · 17/05/2015 22:01

I love it. It's very pretty and I like that bellis perennis, Latin for 'common Daisy' means pretty and everlasting Smile

Hubnut · 17/05/2015 22:05

All 3 names are lovely. I think I like Annie best.

sweetpeame · 17/05/2015 22:31

Daisy is lovely, I considered it for DD but DH vetoed it. She did end up with a flower name though Smile

buntingbingo · 17/05/2015 22:36

Love it. I have one, she loves it. She loves having her own 'motif' and is proud when she wears something with Daisies on.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 17/05/2015 23:32

I like it - much nicer than Alice or Annie.

StupidBloodyKindle · 17/05/2015 23:43

Give you my answer, do? Wink
Nice name, nice meaning
Not that common, taught one -she was lovely
Not many famous ones Daisy Donovan?
Not many cultural refs, song aside, Lazy daisy Confused, daisy+tom ( was that a..ahem..daisy chain?)
Daisy is lovely, use it.
Better than Annie (she'll come out/get your gun) Alice is okay prefer Alicia. nn Lissy
Also daisy chain photos and daisy dresses will be beautiful

StupidBloodyKindle · 17/05/2015 23:45

Sun'll come out

MagentaVitus · 17/05/2015 23:48

Daisy is a cow's name.

Sophronia · 18/05/2015 00:06

I much prefer Annie.

FireCanal · 18/05/2015 00:10

Alice or Annie much better.

applecatchers36 · 18/05/2015 07:44

Also always think of a cow first...

UnspecialSnowflake · 18/05/2015 07:51

I like it for a little girl, but I dislike it for an adult. To me it conjures up the image of someone who's flighty and fey, a "dizzy ditsy Daisy".

I also think it's getting a bit old hat, it was a popular name when my DD was born nearly eight years ago when people first started using twee, old fashioned names again.

JugglingChaotically · 18/05/2015 07:58

Love it. Wish I'd used it too.
Can do marguerite for adult name if worried about that and use Daisy from day 1!

mappemonde · 18/05/2015 08:02

I think it's pretty but better on a baby than a grown up.

I love Alice and would have Anna nn Annie.

Catsahoy · 18/05/2015 08:04

Love it

KERALA1 · 18/05/2015 08:08

Awful. Fine for a toddler sounds downright silly on an adult woman. Imagine running a team in a bank for example or standing up in court whilst saddled with a dreadful cutesy name like daisy poppy or honey?

grannycake · 18/05/2015 08:10

I have a Daisy who is now 27. She loves her name but my lovely MIL did think cow's name when she was born. My posher GM thought servants name! They got used to it pretty quickly though. She does hate the Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do though!

BubGal13 · 18/05/2015 08:58

I adore it only put off by recent popularity. Think its sunny, upbeat, feminine, slightly bohemian.

KERALA1 · 18/05/2015 11:21

Which is fine unless your dd ends up being serious and bookish with a job that requires her to have gravitas. Then being called Daisy, Poppy, Honey boo boo or something sounds daft. Sorry but I hate all these flipsy dipsy names for girls really gets my goat.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 18/05/2015 11:23

I love Daisy. Much prefer it to Alice or Annie.

Mintyy · 18/05/2015 11:26

Love it. The oldest member of my extended family (95) is called Daisy. It is a beautiful name.

Mintyy · 18/05/2015 11:27

When they grow up Kerala they will be the norm and no one will raise an eyebrow.

KERALA1 · 18/05/2015 11:41

Hmm maybe but personally think its a feminist issue. They are childlike, powerless names which don't suit adult women. There is a serious newsreader called Daisy and I think it sounds daft when the camera pans to an intelligent professional 40 something. It really bothers me can you tell?!

Definitely Annie. Annie is lovely. As is Mary. Anything but Daisy.
