Names like Jude, Nate, Seth?

Hi, we're expecting DS2 this summer and are a bit stuck on choosing a name. We both like Nate (Nathaniel), Seth, Jude, Sebastian (Seb), but wondered if anyone could think of anything else along these lines which we might like.

ATM, none of these names seem perfect (e.g. I like Nate, but not Nathaniel, and feel we would need to go for the longer version.

DS1 is Felix, if that helps,
Thanks

Silas? Elias? Samson? Caleb?

That names you suggest in the OP make me think of The Kings of Leon for some reason. Them seem quite American to me, while Felix is seems very English!

Jude is lovely.

I know what you mean about feeling you'd need to choose the long version of the other names though.

What about Isaac? An incredible name and it goes with Felix.

Or Nathan rather than Nathaniel?

We have an Isaac (nn Zac) who was very nearly a Jude - I loved it so much and would have picked it but it just didn't seem to go with our surname.
We also considered Asher and Caleb

Thank-you everyone, there are some great suggestions here. Funnily enough, we have discussed Isaac quite a few times and I would still be very tempted to go with it. I also live Asher, but DH prefers Ashley, so that ends up being a bit of a non-started for us.

I hadn't really thought of the names as being american, but I see where you are coming from.

My ds is Asher and he loves his name (teenager now!), also nice are Otis, Isaac, Zeke.

LeoandBoosmum · 23/05/2015 17:14

My favourite boys' name is Nathan. I also like Seth and Silas.

People will probably disagree but I think Ivor is due a comeback.

You might also like Rufus (esp is he is a redhead), Alex and Aubrey, Angus or Rupert.

LeoandBoosmum · 23/05/2015 17:14

Ooh, your first son is Felix... I think Alastair goes very well.

BreacaBoudica · 23/05/2015 17:15

My son is Solomon (Sol) which I think fits nicely in your list :)

Madbengalmum · 23/05/2015 17:46

Jude is getting too common now

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/05/2015 17:50

My first thought was Silas which is the first name suggested.

Nate for Nathan?

Jago, Austin, Jed, Jem, Rufus.

calilark · 23/05/2015 17:53

I have a cousin Jed. Suited him as a kid and now as a bloke.

Kit (for Christopher) - any good?
