I would definitely choose Harriet as it has a special connection for you.

Personally, I would choose Ella or Zara from your list for the other name.

I really don't like Esme (sounds too much like 'Is Me' to my ears) & Aleah looks like a name spelt wrong - Aliya possibly?

Alyssa is nice but doesn't seem to go with Harriet so well. Ellie is nice, but I prefer Ella & obviously you wouldn't use both Smile.

Congratulations! Wishing you all the best for three weeks' time.

Zara and harriet

Rebecca1608 · 15/05/2015 14:21

I've always said i would name my child after my Grandad obviously Harry if i was to have a boy and I love the name Harriet for a girl. The 2nd child wouldn't be 2nd best or feel that way it's just i was very close to my Grandad. So far i think it will be Esme and Harriet.

I love the name Harriet. Often wish I'd named my DD this, though her name is Esme!
I think Harriet and Esme are beautiful names and really work together.
Also love Esther.

ScrambledEggAndToast · 15/05/2015 21:24

I would choose from:

Eleanor (favourite)
Lucy (second favourite)
Caitlin
Sophie
Katie
Sophia

Just a word of caution on whatever you decide but as they will have the same DOB and surname, it might be easier to go for different initials - think letters, phone calls, legal docs etc in the future

Rebecca1608 · 16/05/2015 21:27

Yes I agree. I would never give them the same first initial i want them to have something different.

Ellie & Aleah love them
Or
May I suggest
Ariana & Briana
Good luck hope all goes well x

I know of twins Harriet and Georgia.
I like Harriet and Zara.
I'd try and use a family middle name for twin that isn't Harriet

eae123 · 17/05/2015 10:40

Harriet and Esme is a beautiful pairing!

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 17/05/2015 20:37

Harriet and Esme. Sound beautiful together. Congratulations!

Empem288 · 17/05/2015 22:14

Turdfairymore... I agree that maybe 1 day it would come out re connection to their Greatgrandad and Esme (?) would feel left out.

Why not use Harriet as a middle name for both and give them something like Grace & Evie which both sit well with Harriet. When their older and married they will both still have that link with their middle name x

IWishIWishedLess · 18/05/2015 06:32

Another vote for Harriet and Esme!

Other pairings:

Harriet and Zara
Harriet and Ella
Zara and Ella
Zara and Esme

Not so keen on Aleah or Alyssa.

I do like Ellie, but I prefer it as a nickname and I'm not sure what names it would go with best from your list, but Harriet and Ellie is nice to I suppose!

IWishIWishedLess · 18/05/2015 06:35

Oh, also I don't think baby 2 would feel too left out regarding being named after a grandparent. I was name after my grandmother (think Lillian to Lily, Olive to Olivia so very similar but not the same) and my sister's name was completely out of the blue. There was never any jealousy over it at all.

But maybe if you do choose Harriet, I would suggest that you give the second baby a family name as the middle name.

Congratulations!

Annabannbobanna · 18/05/2015 06:35

Ellie and Ella

inmyshoos · 18/05/2015 09:40

Ella and Esme would be my choice from your list. I like the two e's!! Fitting for twins i think.
Congratulations!!

mathanxiety · 19/05/2015 05:23

Esme and Harriet is a lovely combination, especially for identical twins. They both have the same sort of feel yet they are distinct.

fleurdelacourt · 19/05/2015 10:33

Love Harriet!

Harriet and Esme sounds great.

Slight variations on your list that I love are Alysia and Leah. Any good?

Other names I think work are Georgia, Florence and Isla.

Glittery7 · 19/05/2015 21:44

Zara and Esme. Perfect.

Sophronia · 19/05/2015 22:11

Harriet and Esme go very well together. Harriet and Eliza would be nice too.

thegreylady · 20/05/2015 12:55

I love Harriet it was my great gran's name and I wish I had used it.
Harriet and Esme are perfect together.
